NT's All Time NBA ReDraft Thread: GR8 Write Up Page 187, Bracket Final Vote

Kinda hard to gauge Cousins career right now. Nothing wrong with taking younger players, but you want their resume looking right. Boogie has 1 allstar game and 1 All NBA 2nd team under his belt. He very well may end up being great, but his resume isn't on the level of Pau right now. All things considered, Pau did at least lead a Grizz team that really shouldn't have been in the playoffs to 3 consecutive playoffs on his own. We not even going to get into his career with the Lakers yet.

Not really a problem taking all Lakers considering the amount HOF talent in the franchise history.

Taking Kobe over Magic was definitely questionable though.

Says the guy who took Hakeem over MJ. Exfoliate ya face.

That's all great but is he an actual better player than Cousins?

There isn't really anything that Gasol does on a basketball better than Boogie besides being a bit more effecient on the block.

Boogie was the best two way center in the league last season and was on his way to sending his team to the playoffs before he got meningitis and they fired his 4th head coach.

AD went in rd 1 though. Yea I know he's the current next great of all time but his accolades I'm sure aren't what got him taken that high.

Cousins may end up being the Mitch Richmond of centers. But, he's not even at that point yet  .

I understand, but AD is a generational talent. I don't consider Cousins on that level.

Efficiency and being a better passer matters as well. Boogie has yet to touch Pau in OBPM and Pau had multiple seasons with a DBPM of 2 or more. Hard to argue that Cousins right now was better than Pau at his peak. All because Pau was a little more unselfish during his peak years doesn't make Cousins the bettter player because he put up bigger scoring numbers.

A Center over a SG is an easy decision especially when it's Hakeem.

Word to the 1984 draft.

Ain't nobody taking the second best SG over the best PG besides you because you gotta find a way to integrate Kobe into your every fabric of existence.

WAT?

^^^^

Nice pick, you gotta squad offensively but the D is shaky.

Going to be a lot of 135-120 games with your team.

Except we aren't in 1984. We know MJ is the GOAT to ever play almost unanimously by everyone. Longevity was the only reason I picked Bean over Magic and said so after the pick.

If you guys didn't like the Cousins pick, you're definitely not gonna like this one.

Andrew Wiggins.

He has the potential to be one of the best two-way players for the next 10 years, and as the GM, I'll hire a forward-thinking coach to help him flourish and reach his full potential instead of a dinosaur like Flip Saunders to stunt his growth.

I had about 4-5 other guys on my list that surprisingly made it to me, but I just felt like the offensive ability + elite level defense was too hard to pass up. I'm going to stop you and still have enough offense to beat you on most nights.

Even though this was like my Plan F, it’s still coming together nicely. 3 #1 options in Payton, Roy and Malone, not to mention Artest could put up 20+ on any given night. 3 guys that are elite defensive players. 2 of my guys are 2 of the few perimeter players in the NBA to win DPOTY. And all of these guys could’ve played in any era ( 70’s, 80’s, 90’s or current day). Roy was a decent defender, but he was one of the most poised offensive players during his healthy years. He didn’t need elite athleticism to score the basketball and could pretty much score anywhere on the floor.

Malone
3x All-Defensive 1st team. 1x All-Defensive 2nd team

Payton
1x Defensive Player of the Year. 9x All-Defensive 1st team

Artest
1x Defensive Player of the Year. 2x All-Defensive 1st team. 2x All-Defensive 2nd team
