NT's All Time NBA ReDraft Thread: GR8 Write Up Page 187, Bracket Final Vote

I mean dude had 2 All Star seasons, and really one standout year. Meh. What makes him any better than a certain black ice spokesman yet to be picked?

Also, a lot of this is about fit. a lot of guys want stretch players, so taking Antwan, or Kiki over Elton makes sense if you already have a high volume post up horse.

also I don't see Cousins vs. Brand as a big enough difference to get worked up over. They are comparable talents imo.

The reason he fell is more to do with team construction. in an all time draft talent pool is too deep, if you are picking post up horses, there are many many options better than elton brand, and usually you want to pair those guys with shooter or rim protectors.

Like with my team I have Bob Lanier I would not have picked elton brand really for anything other than a back up, and there a whole host of players who are "worse" but better fits.

I wish I could of explained this as intellectually as you did. I'm not good with words.

Well said.

Alright, so I'm crazy. I'm not about to go on some Melo-fan type rant, "You're all wrong! Dude is the truth!"

I just remember seeing dude get double-doubles like nothing on a Clipper squad that had me shaking my head nightly like, "Man, get this dude on a contender and away from these goofballs."

CP? bhz? P? JD? Anyone else care to chime in?

I had Brand in mind, but like Osh said, I went for more range.

Hence my desire for Sheed. Once he went, LMA was next. Brand has a SOLID PER, over 20.50 so I wasn't overlookin him, but the fit I wanted on my roster was moreso a guy like LMA who can step out 20 feet and help spread the floor with my other shooters.

Brand was NOT who I thought Ska was thinkin of tho.

Great player. Underrated by his lack of production after leaving the Clippers (due to injuries).

Brand would have been a great choice for someone who has a monster rim protector/defensive anchor center and need some post-up big man offense.. but if they wanted to go with a stretch 4 or already had post up offense established, then Brand doesn't make as much sense.

I was hoping he'd still be there round 6 so I could grab him as a backup big.

I think that about the current PF of the Clippers as well.

Now...

Those that chose Wiggins, Jamison, KIKI VANDEWEGHE, TONI KUKOC, DEMARCUS COUSINS with Elton Brand:

HOW?

A simple "Just wasn't thinking about him" will suffice.

Don't even try to justify it.

I was specifically looking for a stretch 4 who could also do damage in the paint. Jamison can score from anywhere, hence why he's top 50 all-time in scoring. My team is fine, bruh.

Trust me, I'm not sweating it over not selecting Elton Brand

Y'all going on and on over Elton Brand when I just nabbed a top 50 all time player with the 130 something pick?

There will be no struggle. The real struggle is during rounds 4-13 in the seasonal redraft. Those rounds are absolute torture.

I forgot all about Brand

After all my initial bigs were taken (including JO), I decided to go with...

Sorry @Statis22

One monster of a rim protector in his prime and also had decent range. Adding another DPOTY to my starting 5 and a 4x All NBA Defender. He's also was one hell of a rebounder in his prime.

Gary Payton
Brandon Roy
Ron Artest
Karl Marlone
Marcus Camby

Eh, Camby would always let the offensive player get closer to the rim to rack up blocks than wall him off earlier.
