The NBA Draft Thread

If the Lakers don't get the 1st pick I hope it's PHX they really have to take Josh Jackson right?

Wow Draftexpress has a few interesting ones:

Tatum at #4

Leaf falling way down and they have Leaf's teammate bench player Anigbogu going before Leaf... Anigbogu has crazy upside

I think both Jackson and Ball are good fits for LAL

Jackson seems like a perfect fit for the Lakers, but Lonzo certainly wouldn't be bad either. Lonzo running point would allow DLo to solely focus on getting buckets...

If I was sold on Jackson's shooting, he would be the clear #1 option for the Lakers.

But alas...

Can the Lakers really afford not to just take Fultz and let things figure itself out from there?
No they can't. I don't know why they would overthink this. If Fultz is there you have to take him, dude is a transcendent talent in my opinion.

I don't watch college so I was was looking up Josh Jackson on YouTube. Kid can jump out the gymnasium. :wow:

Then I ran across the kid Harry Giles in high school stuff. Wow.

What he ain't leaving up to the hype in College?

Yea, I really don't get the Ball or Jackson preferences if they got the 1. Especially when DLo may not have the ceiling that people originally thought.

Giles had a number of knee injuries. He's playing for Duke now. Tough to evaluate cuz it looks like he's not 100% yet. Kinda expect him to still declare. Idk where he'll be projected to go but I'll be rooting for him.

I think he should stay another year. Get healthy and get back to top draft pick status in a weak draft class next year.

Nah.

Another knee injury and he's never playing basketball again.

He has to come out and get what he can now.

Also, I don't get the D Lo skeptics. I still think he's going to become an All-NBA caliber guard in a few years.

Possible, but he was getting Harden comps pre-draft. I still like him but he's not stopping me from picking Fultz

I still believe in Dlo at point but it wouldn't stop me from taking Fultz or Ball. Dlo can excel off the ball too. Plus it's not like he's never gunna have the ball in his hands if the lakers get fortunate enough to draft either Fultz or Ball.

DLo believer here as well. Has a lot of the necessary tools and just turned 21. Still think he will be an all-star at some point and don't see why he couldn't play off-ball if Fultz or Ball were brought into the fold.

It wouldn't stop me from taking Fultz but I wouldn't draft Ball if I'm the Lakers.

I agree Dlo's athleticism puts a limit on his ceiling. He also hasn't been shooting as well as I thought, but he's still above average. To become a real star, he's gunna have to improve his 3 point %.

I would obviously prefer pairing him with Fultz. I'd take JJ at 2 because I think he's the 2nd best player in the draft. Ball is 3rd on my board tho. I think Ball is a great decision maker and the shooting him and Dlo would have at the 1/2 could be deadly in a few years. Especially cuz I think Dlo will get wide open 3s all day at the 2. U worry about a Dlo/Ball defensive backcourt but I don't think it would be that bad.

Awwsome, would you consider Monk at 3 over Ball for the Lakers? Pairing dlo with Monk as a shooter? Defensively there would be a lot of question marks tho.
