To be fair AI did do a lot of damage with his inefficient chucking. Great talent though.
And lead his team to the ECF in the worst eastern conference ever. Like, there are more than counting numbers. He was a cultural phenomenon, but people get it twisted with how good he actually was.

It's hilarious.

Nah, but Iverson was the real deal. Superior athlete. Dude was in tip top condition. Took 30 shots a night with the defense aimed at stopping him every night. He took a beating every game and rarely took a game off cause of any injuries. And he used to be hammered. And a chucker or not he still got close to 7 assist a game during his whole career.

I was a Stephon Marbury fan and had wars about Steph vs Ivo. I always argued that Steph could score just as well, even though I think A.I. got the advantage there, but he was a way better play maker and defender, although Iverson always lead the L in steal. I still felt Steph had a stronger defensive game and was stronger and slightly a bit more explosive then A.I. My ground was always that Steph was the better team player. But I always knew that Iverson was the better Basketball player overall.

At the end of the day, Iversons legacy is cemented.

If we trade for Teague they gotta find a way to include the Hawks piano player in the deal.

Game music be lit thanks to him

I feel like I took a time machine to '96 entering this thread :nerd:

It feels like yesterday when I had debates with friends about iverson vs Marbury lol

Which reminds me of a new poll question......can golden state warriors match the Bulls record?:nerd:

That was some crazy **** when he was eating vasoline and supposedly smoked a blunt during a live stream.

He single handedly led the Sixers to the finals, but let me guess Melo is an all time great to you?!?

Both are all time greats but no doubt AI levels above Melo to me OVERALL
Kobe was in the way of both of them winning rings

BUT LOL @ NOT THINKING AI IS AN ALL TIME GUARD

The people that downplay AI must not have seen him play. Granted like previously stated the east was weak when he took them to the finals but he had probably the worst team ever to make a finals and willed them there by himself practically. Dude was the focus of every defense and he still toyed with the whole opposing team, dude couldn't stop Shaq and Kobe but who could've at that time especially by himself. Laughable that people debate this.....

AI was sick.  And he was a good defender too.

It's a shame he let his career end like that—no one to blame but himself.  But he was a great player and a magnetic personality.  Incredibly tenacious.
