Carbon monoxide in my home

If only there were some site that we could find out who to call...

If you suspect carbon monoxide poisoning:
  • Open windows
  • Leave your home
  • Get to fresh air immediately
  • Call 911
  • Call your the New York City Poison Control Center: 212-POISONS (212-764-7667)

As I've stated the alarm isn't going off atm so calling 911 will do what? I'm guessing poison control would solve nothing either.

I'm trying to get someone to figure out the issue. I'm going to try and find the gas companies #. Renting in NYC I just pay my rent guys I never call anyone to do any of this stuff so I had no clue which is why I asked after doing countless searched on Google and getting no clear answer. I ain't trying to pay for something my landlord should be fixing but I also ain't trying to die.

Whenever I have a problem I call my maintenance office for the building and they do everything so this is out of my experience realm.

let me break this down for you my man. real simple

1. First find out if there is even a leak (buy a monoxide detector) if so.....

This is the important part....

2. Email Both the landlord and the owner of the complex so you have it documented

3. Call a lawyer immediately and let him do the rest

4. Easy money

Don't take this lightly. This is one of those "you don't believe $#&* stinks" situations. You've never experienced a serious health issue due to this so you're not alarmed by it. Take this seriously.

If you don't have money for a hotel, get on tinder and swipe right until your thumb gets sore. Surely a chick will let you crash.

I dont know what else you need to hear OP to take this seriously. It doesnt occur to you that you can die in your sleep from this? Go sleep at a motel or something until tomorrow

As I've stated the detector goes off randomly but not right now. I've had the landlord come see nothing and leave. I can't call the fire department because as I've stated the alarm isn't going off therfore there is no Co. Only thing I can do is call the gas company.

I am taking it seriously but all you guys have said is leave which I'm not doing if the alarm isn't going off.

I have the maintenance man here right now all he's doing is turning the stove on and off. No detector no nothing.

same thing happened to me December last year. I called the fire dept.  They inspected the house and it turned out to be a broken pipe from the boiler.

Best advice call the fired dept. I'm located in nyc also

Dude really is Yamcha. Who cares about the detector not screaming. Call the fire department and use the resource you pay taxes for. And get out of there man. Oh it's not going off I must be ok. Cmon b.

A+ post until the last bit, upgraded to an A+++ post.

I ******* hate threads like this where the OP asks for advice and everyone gives him solid, sound, reasonable things to do and every post he comes back with an excuse of why he has not or will not use said advice.  What the hell is the purpose of the post then?  If you're not going to use any of the suggestions given then just keep living in your bummy *** spot and wait for the carbon monoxide to kill you.
