I never been to either place and all the Guyanese and Trini folks I know look like the kid that got arrested , or darker, and consider themselves black. Not sure why it would be a HUGE insult tho...Wait, my Guyanese and Trini folks aint black?
Kid got a raw deal but it seem like he'll have an opportunity to be a better person for it.
Calling everyone from Guyana and Trinidad Black is a HUGE insult. Most of my family are from there and they are of Indo Caribbean background as are a good number of the populace. Like the Dominican thing, y'all need to stop telling people what they are.

Huge insult? Maybe that's just your family. I have family and friends in Trinidad and Barbados that look just like that kid and consider themselves black. Not only that, they call themselves Africans.

Its not an insult in they want to be white. Its an insult that you're calling them something that they are not. They are Indian not Black. If I showed you a picture of my grandfather would you call him Black? That's how some people on here think and its why Ninjahood always got upset. Everyone from the Caribbean isn't Black. You have Asians mixed in with Blacks.
My last two cents on this topic. The reality is that everyone stereotypes and profiles. We all do. Ahmed just got a crash course on life that was blown out of proportion. Life isn't fair. Kids in the inner city go to schools where they are required to walk through metal detectors everyday; myself included and some schools insist that students wear transparent book bags. Maybe that's why I'm not standing with him. There are children who go through with what he went through every morning because of where they live and what they look like. There was no reason for him to bring that clock to school and was reasoning was even worse.

I was aware of this as these were the ones I was referring to who look similar to the kid that got arrested. However, I had no idea that it was a HUGE insult to consider them black. Kiera Wilmot went through the same thing and Obama didn't even call her. Where were these STEM companies offering her internships and tours at their HQ? This kid wasn't a nobody. For his father to routinely run for President in another country means that family has clout in the community. Its not a coincidence this blew up especially when CAIR got involved.
