To be honest, I have a certain amount of respect for dudes that have bad/balding/thinning hair, and just deal with it. A friend of mine started going thin in college, and by the time he was 25, it was noticeable. He did the rogaine thing, but it didn't work for him, so he's just been buzzing it for the last 8 years or so. Looks a hell of a lot better than all the sorcery some dudes be doing.
