Either Scotty Brooks or Thibs could make it work.

I know that ain't Kevin Durant, must be another KD
So given the option to oppose Durant or Brooks, you chose KD.

So we're good on Scotty?

My eyes filled with rage and disbelief at the sight of KD so I didn't even think about Brooks but hell to the naw.

If derozan has the cajones to come here the year after Kobe and take all the pressure of comparisons to mamba, then he's good in my book, rather have that than a bunch of shooting guards being timid and scared to come to the basketball shrine of Kobe

Derozan is a good player, all star, young and athletic with playoff experience. Everybody gets the max these days, don't judge him based on "he doesn't deserve the max". He is a solid core player on a contender.

I'm in for demar if KD says no.

Have you guys watched him play at all? Have to get OKB in here to school you.

Once any BiG NAME FA walks into a room and has a meeting with Jim Buss it's a wrap he knows nothing about Basketball and is a weirdo

He called Andrew Bynum.

That was a pretty big draft pick for us.

Serious question

Is Jim Buss your distant cousin?

Nope.

But I can actually see what is reality. Rather than fall into Magic Johnson hot takes.

Bynum was brought in by scout. He fell in love with Bynum's game. He was the leading voice for picking Bynum. Preached patience on Bynum. Refused trades for Bynum. Bynum turns into an important part of 2 Title Teams, and an All-Star.

Those are undeniable facts.

Then he gave the go ahead to pull the pin, and toss the grenade, and let it explode somewhere else.

As I've always said, he's not the best. But there's a good track record there as well. It's a mixed bag, as is anybody's.

Right, one draft pick that was mostly made by Mitch is the reasoning behind why you defend him so hard everyday.

That constitutes as being a great owner.

As the great Rasheed Wallace said "Even the sun shines on a dog's *** some days" That's Jim Buss.

No, I meant "Dammit" as two completely different things.

one: "Thought we were somewhere close to having the thread agree on something. Dammit."

two: "Still no Scotty? Dammit."

"Nobody will sign here"
"We can't get FA's"
"We'll never get anyone to take our money"
"Nobody will join us"

"Helllllllllll no we don't want a 26 year old All Star to sign with us...."

Seriously people.

Hold on, all Stephen A said was DeRozan is going to Los Angeles. He could mean literally going home to the city of LA.

I'm actually starting to get excited, some quality players available and Kobe being gone helps in terms of attracting FAs

KD
Derozan
Barnes
Batum
Whiteside
Horford
Noah
Ezeli
Pau
Butler via trade
Boogie via trade

Lots of possibilities with 60 milli in cap space

Even better if we gain another asset via a top 3 pick

Exciting times y'all

So, he made 1 good call out of the 47353846284 bad ones.

-Bynum - Which by the way, was not mostly made by Mitch. Every single report from that year, and in the years after was that Jim was pushing the entire room to go toward Bynum in the draft. And that draft wasn't very deep. Just look at the 5 picks ahead of Bynum, and the 5 picks after him. A whole lotta "What is this?"
-Phil coming back wasn't Dr. Buss. Jim was put in charge of finding a long term replacement, and getting it done. Written in Daily News right after Phil's press conference in 2005.
-Chris Paul trade - which was really masterful. Yet due to unprecedented action, we got hosed. Once David Stern stepped in, there was nothing we were going to do to make the trade happen.
- Quality draft picks with the few we've had in the past decade. Trading for Clarkson. Nance. Farmar. Marc Gasol. Randle (there was a lot of dynamite around the Randle pick)
- Showing an adept knowledge of what the NBA was moving toward. Going Russell over Okafor. Which so far is bearing itself out, and showing what the NBA is going toward.
- Not spending money for spending money sake. We can talk about Melo, Melo was still a dynamic scorer. But even when Melo turns us down. He could have gone full nuclear, and just started handing out long term deals. We haven't done that.

And before we get the MITCH THIS, MITCH THAT. How many times do were have to go through the dynamic of what is done before it gets through the density of your brains
