People are calling Joe Johnson crazy for not signing with Cavs. Let's be real here, there's no team besides the Spurs with the slightest chance of beating the Warriors and they don't have that real a chance. He might as well go somewhere with a nice sunset and beautiful women like Miami lol

My Classmates / peers are the exact same way, and it's cringeworthy tbh

Everyone is in such competition with each other that they judge each other's early 20's due to their innate inferiority complexes and fear that their lives isn't where they feel it should be. Always tell people life isn't a competition and everyone moves at their own pace.

Everyone in life should be more like @Hot Route
 tbh

/rant

Probably an age thing then. They'll get over the competitiveness over time.

Kerr shoots down Robertson's claims that older era would contain Curry

Warriors coach Steve Kerr is a master of sarcasm and executed it perfectly again Thursday night.

Asked about the ridiculous assertion by Basketball Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson that players of an earlier era would've shut down Stephen Curry, he went all in.

"Oh I'm sure, yeah," Kerr said, according to Fox Sports. "I could have stopped this back in my time. Boy, I would have shut Steph down.

"Because athletes, you know, 50 years ago were much bigger, stronger and faster, more finely tuned. So Steph might not have made it in the league.

Kerr's comments came after Curry scored 51 points in the Warriors' 130-114 win Thursday night over the Orlando Magic that improved the team to 52-5.

Earlier Thursday, Robertson was on ESPN's Mike and Mike and ripped today's NBA coaches for their grasp of the game.

"I just don't think coaches today in basketball understand the game of basketball," Robertson said, per NJ.com's transcript of his interview. "They don't know anything about defenses. They don't know what people are doing on the court."

As for the success of Curry, Robertson offered this.

"He's shot well because of what's going on in basketball today. In basketball today, it's almost like if you can dunk or make a 3-point shot, you're the greatest thing since sliced bread.

"There have been some great shooters in the past. ... But here again, when I played years ago, if you shot a shot outside and hit it, the next time I'm going to be up on top of you. I'm going to pressure you with three-quarters, half-court defense. But now they don't do that. These coaches do not understand the game of basketball, as far as I'm concerned."

Robertson also offered his take on the Warriors in general and coach Steve Kerr's offense.

"I think Golden State and some other teams play very well, but look at the game of basketball," he said. "They run one play. Well, maybe two plays. They've got a high-pick with the center, then the shooters run baseline trying to get open with blocks from the forwards. I mean that's it. You don't see hardly any reverse plays at all, no double screens, no weak side and whatnot."

From here, those just seem to be the sad sounds of another older player who insists his era featured the only way to play.

Ok, I am not sure how this works but....

Does the NBA not have a FLEX option on National TV games like the NFL past a certain game?

I honestly think they just change games when they wanna

Me too. Like I do not get it half the time.

I need league pass next season I see.

I want to see Raps vs Cavs. Hawks and Bulls is not bad but I would rather see what the Raps got.

@ZachLowe_NBA: The Heat expect to sign Joe Johnson today or this weekend, sources say.

@ZachLowe_NBA: Note: Joe Johnson to the Heat isn't finalized, + cannot be until he clears waivers this weekend. But that is expected landing spot as of now

*Cue that Mempjhis Grizzlies media day pic from the late Iverson era where there's like 5 balls for five chuckers*

somebody pull up that grizz media day pic with everyone happy and smiling, and OJ is chillin in the back on his phone.

Didn't really care for JJ on the Cavs but thought he'd make a run with the Thunder tbh. Nice fit in Miami. If Bosh can return man that team can make a deep run

they are definitely a weird team.

Curious what seed they get and if we gotta play them.

There's a lot that goes into that for NBA as opposed to the NFL. Biggest thing I'd say would be advertisement and what not. The NFL owns an entire day so it's not much for them to switch, even switching days is easy. NBA you have primetime t.v. as well as other sports or various different things that may interfere with that I.e. Concerts, conventions, etc.
