We are "pretty sure" we think he meant to be racist with a nondirect harming coztume. He made an inderect gesture that might or might not have been racist but we really cant say.
If some cant see things that way cause of history then they dont want to, some ppl are just finger pointers of assumptions, it is what it is no changing them.

Funniest about this all is that whites have completely absolved themselves of the evil that they perpetually commit against people of color so much so that blatant acts of racism now get swept under the rug & they claim "oh no big deal"

Go ahead and be mad all you want. At the end of the day, neither of you are doing a single thing about it. Let these instances motivate you to help strengthen the black community and help educate the white community on things you assume they should be aware of.
