Nike Air Jordan Retro Metallic V - 7/23/16

Sorry but i don't much care for character if it means my soles become Brown. They don't look good at all. I know it's inevitable but it still looks really bad

Absolutely not true imo. I clean my clear soles after each wear and try hard to keep em clean. Thats cuz i like the clear sole look. The same reason i bought the shoe with a clear sole.
I understand that but it's going to happen regardless. I like the icy soles too but I know what comes with them. Sole protectors and sole sauce is a waste of money (in my opinion).

But with new stuff you purchase don't you want to keep it looking fresh and you take care of it as long as possible? It can be applied with anything not just shoes. Cars keep it washed and waxed, phones you buy screen protecters and cases. Etc. Im with @caleb4god, Im the same way. And thats with obviously knowing what will eventually happen to the kicks.

Pic from Fabolous..

Hope they use the bright fire red on the Jumpman on the tongue. Not that dark *** red in the 2011's

Wasn't Fab caught with fakes a couple of time. E looks a little off (could just be the picture but I'm taking this with a grain of salt.

The JB dudes don't even have them yet.

Exactly. Don't get me wrong, I fully accept that my shoes will age. Clear/blue soles will turn yellow, paint will crack, creases will appear, and that's perfectly fine. Doesn't mean I can't still make an effort to have them age in a certain way that i'm comfortable with.

Though I personally don't bother with sole protectors and sole sauce, but also don't knock anyone who does. To each his own.

Original Durabuck>Current Durabuck>Nubuck>Suede
thats what i thought, but people keep saying OG durabuck was the worst and ashy larry's cousin. But i guess people's experiences have varied.

the black infrared 6 were nubuck and not the current durabuck right?

Yes, the Black and Infrared 23 6 was nubuck. I'm not sure which shoe they started using the current durabuck on but I know it's on the Black, Bordeaux, Light Graphite, and Midnight Fog 7s. Also who said that the original durabuck was the worst? As you can see by various photos in the thread that it holds up nicely and doesn't get ashy.

The black infrared 6s from 14 featured nubuck and the current durabuck on the upper. Most of it was nubuck though

The original 1990 Black and Metallic Silver 5. This is the original durabuck. As you can see it does not have the ashy look that is famous with suede. It looks this way due to age. This is pretty good material to age this well.
