Morehouse undergrads or Alumni or any HBCU Students chime in

i’m interested in comp sci bro my math isn’t strong but I’m willing to work hard. I got my A+ cert and did a internship at TD ameritrade. Just to get my feet wet it was hard but it wasn’t for me cause i needed more experience with excel spreadsheets. Them deadlines was serious. :x but yeah I’m not doing liberal arts you can’t eat with that.
If you decide to stick with comp sci it doesn't really matter what school you attend you will do fine post grad 65K-90K starting salary .

I would suggest a school with an active NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers) chapter , go to the national convention career fair every year and you will flourish.

Morehouse grad here,

I would say that you would be doing yourself a disservice by not going to a HBCU. Morehouse has a lot of connections with many Fortune 500 companies who were scratching at the door to get students to work for them (at least while I was there). The chicks down there are top notch bro, and the ratio  was something like 12:1 when I was there. Homecoming was always lit too.

I've also noticed that my friends who graduated from HBCU's seem to take a little more pride in themselves, compared to the ones who when to PWI's.

When did you graduate? Cause the cost of Morehouse has gone through the roof as of late.

I graduated in '09. When did you graduate?

And it's no denying that it is pricey, but at least in my experiences, the benefits have been outweighing those costs since.

2011.

I'll admit that I have been a bit extreme earlier, Morehouse is a great school,I would never say otherwise and I got a lot out of it. I'm just always hesitant to recommend it to anyone because of how much it costs. I know people who came out totally in the hole for 120k+. The costs of a school should always be the top factor in choosing where to go Imo. If I'm about to pay that much for school it better be an ivy league or top ten nationwide for a program like nyu stern or something

Yo NSBE convention be so lit we had French majors and Psych majors in our chapter .

One of my friends landed an Apple Software Engineer internship out in cali at the convention this year.

Nothing but opportunities in NSBE doesn't matter what school you go to the companies come to strictly hire blacks and minority's.

Yup i heard, I think our chapter was run by folks who didnt know what they were doing lol, i always knew about it but thought it was Engineering only. I def would have joined early on. Im doing ok for myself now, but i know I could have made a killing if I would have know about that.

True, you can always get involved with professional chapters. NSBE DC professional chapter is very well connected, so I can only imagine how NSBE ATL professional chapter is.
