I don't know the history of OP, but good article. Good read for those not in the know. For those in the know, it's more redundancy IMO. I feel as if we need white people to help bring down white supremacy ONLY if one feels that white people are indeed superior. If not, we can simply choose to abandon the system and all it's derivatives TOMORROW.
Agree with this 200%. This is just the reality. When race is an issue to white folks, they're for the vast majority on the side of white supremacy. When race is a non-issue for white folks (which it's a non-issue to the overwhelming majority I assume through observed action and results) they're by default also siding with white supremacy......
Then you have the extremely rare exceptions to the rules in people like Tim Wise in which race is an issue and they MORE on the side of human/spiritual equality that's actually beneficial to melanated people particularly AFRICAN people.
It is baked into our laws, policies, and american culture.....yes. Legislation can NEVER work to eradicate racism in this country. It's an immeasurable, intangible happening. Believing so means that one has to believe that the hearts and minds of the people that create the law can be changed since the laws were created out of a position of ignorance as opposed to an extremely knowledgeable and deliberate one.....every law and policy that hurts African people is intended to be that way, and has been thought through vigorously. If a policy is passed that helps African people at first glance, trust that they're getting it in through the backdoor with no remorse. It's just the way of success for them hence white supremacy. Either that or we believe that these laws and policies exist in some type of vacuum. That they were racist in nature by some type of chance.

White supremacy is not some abstract thing that you can just wish away and everything is fine

You have to be able to say specifically how America will transition to a "post white supremacy" world and how it will operate.
Black people have been oppressed physically, then legally, now economically.
If black people can't spell out how this new America must will look, then the dominant society will, and just look at how they were able to transform laws and policies over history to find new ways to hurt the black community

I'm not afraid to have the conversation with ignorant.
Doing battle with the ignorant only sharpens my skills.
When people say stuff like this all I really hear is I can't handle different opinions or I don't have the skills to present a solid argument and then refute their BS claims.
I think when people do this it creates a vicious cycle.
"I don't talk to white people about race because they don't understand..." well how are they going to understand your point of view if you're not willing to talk to them.
Rarely do people just accept your arguements just because...especially when your argument paints them in a negative light.
I'm not on board with this at all.

You don't. People stay assuming I'm racist. Shaved head, beard and tattoos. I've had to check multiple people it's quite annoying. Meanwhile my daughter is half black.
it goes both ways. Other white people coming up talking racist garbage or black people saying I'm racist. All you can do is laugh and tell people to get tf out your face.

Everything I do is a step to buy land in a different country and not live in the USA anymore. But on the premise of racism, it's just as bad if not worse in some places I would like to go (i.e. Central or South America)
Is there anywhere that white people aren't considered racist then?

I think it can be fixed but moving out is easier. In my case I'm going to Guyana. Use my talents there. Fix the racial situation there (much easier task IMO).

I'm from Guyana and I just came back from there. It's so funny they think that their social issues like racism are so crazy serious but honestly it's laughable compared to here. On the street everybody seems to get just along fine. If the archaic political parties didn't continue to preach that ole racism for votes and weren't so damn crooked the country would be nice.
