These Kelly Oubre shapeuped dudes be killing me though. Wild man, growing up in the 90s, I would have NEVER thoughts young black dudes would be walking around looking like this

Dudes had basic haircuts from what I remember. #2 on the haircut sheet. Regular shapeup.

Maybe in Atlanta they had wild hair, not in DC

Phillies were late 80s and early 90s but that wasn't as common as dudes doing this now

Actually, this hairstyle originated in NYC in the 1980s
Stars such as Big Daddy Kane, and Father MC were known to rock this hairstyle. The south is just now catching on to this. They must've just listened to a Big Daddy Kane track and now they think that their part of the culture

DC cats have dirty locks for as long as I remember
Same goes for Atlanta. Those cats have struggle locks with foil tips.

New York was the first to make locks (for non-rasta purposes) go global. Check out the Lost Boyz from outta Queens

DC, as a whole, didn't start the dreads thing until the Carter 1 came out and then everybody hopped on.

You had some Jamaican dudes sprinked here and there that had those dirty locks in the 90s but other than that, nah

Alot of people might not know this, but alot of the Jamaican dudes in DC hailed from Brooklyn. They moved down there to do their business or whatever. That's where the Jamaican population in DC came from.

In NY, there was a group of street cats Im sure yall heard of em, that use to run with Pappy Mason allegedly. They use to rock dreads but they weren't jamaican. A lot of people thought they were jamaican because they had dreads, but they weren't. That's when locks became hot in NY for style purposes. Same goes for army fatigues and bald heads. No one in the USA was rocking the baldie before Onyx.

Those went out in the late 00s around here. Some people still have waves but the more subtle ones.

Every time I see that pic, it reminds me of the straightening comb my grandma would put on the eye of the stove when I would visit over the summer. It looks like Bynum tried to use one of those, but he never put the comb back on the stove to keep it hot, he comb his hair with room temperature steel.

Really curious as to how people are getting their hair to look like this. Is it those sponges? I just get fades and Dark Ceasars, thats as much thought as I put into my haircuts
