*PHILADELPHIA EAGLES* Official 20-21 Regular Season Thread: WEEK 1 EAGLES vs Football Team 1pm ET

^ better start praying cause it going come down to that draft spot.. cause we need our 2nd.. so if we don't have to move up in the 1st that would be great for us

I would deactivate Agohlor all season next year ..cost to much to cut him but it's no way I'm getting him on the field over whoever we draft including dudes selected in like the 4th or later

if he cant even offer anything on special teams, dude is done..

my only hope is some team will be willing to take a flyer.. trade a non-guaranteed deal to see if maybe they could figure out something with him

I read that he played something like 97% of the snaps on Sunday ..that has to be a typo right
sick.gif
healthy scratch to playing 90+% of the snaps

give him back to Chip lol hell Agholor for a conditional 7th?
I mean that works.. he makes the roster the plays a certain amount of games, we get the pick (like the barkley deal).. he doesn't, we don't get it but at least he's gone

only god knows.. I mean hopefully someone figures low risk

whatever gets him out of the building

I'd happily take his 1st and 2nd round picks.. there are other backs I want

Scout’s Take: “They’re close. Chip [Kelly] left this roster in bad, bad shape. I don’t love Doug Pederson as a head coach, but they have a plan and they’re sticking to it.”

Miller’s Fix: The Eagles front office did a smart thing when trading up for Carson Wentz by spreading out the draft pick compensation the Cleveland Browns would receive (three picks in 2016, one in 2017 and one in 2018) so the burden wouldn’t be too heavy in any one year. They also did a smart thing by trading quarterback Sam Bradford to Minnesota for a first-round choice in this year’s class.

Because of these trades, the Eagles have draft capital and room in free agency to be aggressive. And with a young quarterback, a very good offensive line and enough talent on defense to win soon, they can focus on getting Wentz some playmakers and improving the secondary.

The job of building a roster is much easier when you hit on a quarterback and already have a solid offensive line in place. The urge to add receivers may lead to signing a free agent like Alshon Jeffery, but drafting a powerful route-runner with breakaway speed can push this offense over the top too.

Mock Draft:

Rd 1 (f/MIN)—WR Corey Davis, Western Michigan
Rd 2—CB Jourdan Lewis, Michigan
Rd 3—RB Alvin Kamara, Tennessee
Rd 4—LB Vince Biegel, Wisconsin
Rd 5—T J.J. Dielman, Utah
Rd 6—WR Josh Reynolds, Texas A&M
Rd 7—S Demetrious Cox, Michigan State

Bottom line, Wentz needs weapons so he can succeed. Then we need corners or else we will see the same crap on defense as we've seen this season. Without playmakers on the outside, it's like locking the front door, but keep the side doors open. The next couple drafts and free agency periods are going to be CRUCIAL for the progression of Wentz.

-Nolan Carroll: Gone
-Ryan Mathews: Gone
-Bennie: I think he's gone b/c I don't think we are in the position to tie up a crap ton of money on another defensive lineman after giving all that money to Cox. Plus Beau is waiting in the winds for another contract.
-Barwin: Gone, he just doesn't fit the scheme on defense
-Agholor: Stays simply b/c of the cap hit if we cut him.
-DGB: Gone, that experiment was a fail.

bennie depends on the money, his contract might not be THAT absurd (Michael brockers is who you have to look at for an example, bennie is prob lower than that).. Nolan could be back, because his contract might not be THAT bad

Mathews and barwin are gone though, cause the money could be better spent elsewhere.. same goes mckelvin.. also goes for kendricks and kelce too probably (maybe kelce restructures or we can move him)

I think celek restructures

we went with 4 WRs for most of the year, we could easily only have Jordan Matthews back.. we sign a free agent or 2.. rookie or 2.. then you have back end roster guys who could play special teams (turner and/or treggs)

You think the Eagles will cut Agholor even with the cap hit? I think they keep him b/c of that hit and just have him as a low end WR on the depth chart, especially if we draft a WR and/or sign a couple.

If we need the roster spot, I could see them eating the money.. sometimes you just need guys not around

We ate money with Reuben randle

If you check the dead money we're carrying this season because of guys we either cut or traded, i wouldn't put it past them to cut agholor.. that was chip's pick

Next year we only got couple mill in dead money for Bradford, I think

realtalk no BS or fanboy bias

(i know their track record at philly is pretty bad)

but do the eagles even have a chance to beat the giants tonight?
