I love how these NMD's look man but they are FLAT. Try having a standing job for an 8 hour shift in all 3 shoes and tell me if you feel the same after. It should honestly be:

when you get right to the details....
they actually are very nice looking shoes. dope colorways. comfortable. and for a GREAT price.
i mean, we are out here paying 190-400 for Js, 200-350 for Yeezys.
these...for 120. no brainer. even less if you're using your FL/FNL rewards!!

Yeah man, after they flooded the market with nike frees I grew to hate them, and after seeing them for so long, they are just ugly and cookie cutter ****** shoes. I'm past my Jordan's face, can't wear them, just feels weird when I do, since I always wear black and brown boots.
However, I do love those new flyknits they came out with.

IMO its due to it being a very unique looking shoe. It's got a clean modern design with the legos making it stand out. You combine all of that with a bit of scarcity and hype and people lose they minds.
I think if it weren't for the broad hype of Yeezys, the NMD would not be as crazy. You've got a lot of people that look at the resell sneaker market as a potential money maker now. Resellers have been around for a long time but now you've got people that don't care about sneakers that have gotten into the resell game. All of it adds to the craziness around NMDs.

350s hurt the back of my ankle after a while... honestly I don't think they're really comfy
