Three Black Women Beaten By Group of White Males at UatAlbany

Upstate NY is pretty much just like the south. It's rampant with working class poor white people for the most part. Alot of the towns' economy are kept afloat by the colleges in the SUNY system or private universities like syracuse, ithaca, cornell etc

There is a lot of inbreeding but they won't admit it.

There is literally nothing to do there when it gets cold besides drinking.

This is another idiotic statement, do you people not understand AMERICA has a race issue? People stay trying minimize the race issue in this nation to the KKK or to the South, not knowing the Liberal white girl smoking weed with them at Cochella is just as racist as the other extremes.

Lol Dudes act like the got damn Black Panthers didnt originate on the WEST COAST to combat racism, dudes act like ERIC GARDNER was not killed in NYC.

Like When will you all stop playing dumb? Probably when y'all get your cards pulled.

......so no pictures of the victims of this beating?

I'm holding my judgement until I can see what damage was done.

Man shut up and go somewhere. I went to school upstate and lived there for a period of time. Messed around with a PAWG that lives just outside of albany

Awww the great city of Albany and Newyork state.I'll keep it short and truthful for the thread's sake.
Outside of NYC and the other major cities in NewYork state your going to find two type of extreme's that both have one major thing in common that ties them together when it comes to outside influences and visitors who aren't college students or contributing to the local economy in some way.
The two extreme's that I am talking about has to do with class;either you have money or you don't and there are a lot of people who don't in these little pockets in NewYork and the one's that do aren't rich but they're the teachers, doctors, business owners, whatever that keep those communities alive. The poor people, even the working poor are the majority and in my opinion are the one's who make NY state one undesirable place to live(Walfare,no dental plans, pickup trucks, small useless livestock harsh winters ).
But even with my opinion they both have something in common their white and that ties them together close enough to create this nest that they protect by any means and the way to get into this nest with causing a seem is by being a college student which is like 50% foreigners their not going to ruffle those feather's.
I wish it was but it's not it's worse up top than in the south in todays terms.Segregation is real whether it's done on purpose or unconsciously done. But it's not all bad I guess you will find those instances where it's kinda mocha-ish :White woman with bi-racial children and in between again their either on one side of the street or the other.

I'm not shocked by this at all because Albany is a nice small city with a lot of bar's and place's to hangout at and there's usually nothing else to do besides that.Schenectady,NY and surrounding area's you could feel the resentment from the locals, don't drink over there.

I live in rockland county, the furthest I would go is poughkipsee.(sp) ain't ish to do up there.

that's what's up....Nothing but trouble.I've spend many of days traveling with a knife while in Poughkipsee,Newburgh and those places.I was fearful of the white people there, those tough talking transplant NYCer's had nothing on the locals.

I feel like there's more to the story than what is being said

The way the girl types all of that so calmly just doesn't seem right..

I've lived in Bk, Qb and LI, but to be honest I'd rather fight them dudes in Ithaca than east new york .
Hundreds rally to protest attack on three black woman at U. of Albany
By Jillian Deutsch  February 2, 2016 10:14 am

Hundreds gathered Monday night for a rally to protest the Saturday night attack on a city bus of three black female students at the State University of New York in Albany .

The three were allegedly attacked by a group of 10 to 12 white men and women who also shouted racial slurs. They tweeted that the perpetrators were students, but there are no suspects yet.

In a video  from the rally, one of the victims said, “We are black women, and no amount of hate will change that.”

The rally, #DefendBlackGirlsUAlbany, was sponsored by the National Congress of Black Women, according to the Times Union. It reported that one of its organizers, Amberly Carter, said it was “billed as more of a ‘press conference'” and included talk of Malcolm X and a poem.

“Initial, eye-witness, information indicated the incident started on Western Avenue near Madison Avenue.  A review of the video from the CDTA bus has established that the encounter began off campus with verbal exchanges, but that the physical confrontation took place after the bus had driven onto UAlbany’s Main Campus,” read a statement  from Police Chief J. Frank Wiley of the University at Albany police department.

“The investigation is still in its early stages,” it noted.

The victims were taken to the hospital following the incident and treated for minor scrapes, according to the Times Union.

University President Robert Jones released a statement  after the incident, saying there is no place for hate at the school.

“I call upon all members of the University at Albany to unite,” he wrote. “We must show the world that we stand for inclusiveness and stand against bias, violence and hatred.”

People showed their support for the trio of women on Twitter with the hashtag #DefendBlackGirlsUAlbany.

The racially charged incident occurs at a time when racism is at the forefront of many campuses across the country. At the University of Missouri, a student group succeeded in getting the university system president and campus chancellor to resign following racist incidents, and other universities have faced similar protests.

yo be easy my dude. i think what he was trying to imply was that in an evironment that is not diverse, racism finds a more comfortable home. and he's right. cmon no1 here DOESN'T acknowledge that NYC has its problems with race, but you could argue its more institutional. but go upstate where some white folk have never even been the NYC, its a different world.

and its the exact same story for new england. Boston is the last great bastion of diversity heading north and its no where near as big or diverse as NYC, and segregation is more visible. But Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont...those 3 states are lower middle to poor, blue collar states and they are all white as okemo, killington, jay peak....

meanwhile in brooklyn

This incident occurred in somewhere in Brooklyn, NY onboard a J Train. This racist, disgruntled white woman became enraged without provocation at the sight of inner city African American males from East New York riding the train due to their skin color. The rest of the video explains itself. As the racial slurs continued, she began to induce physical violence on a commuter by kicking him. A courageous subway rider began to film this racist piece of **** and posted her on the internet so everybody online will know and recognize what a pathetic human being she is. Hopefully she will be arrested for assault, harassment and hate crime.
