Going to the Philippines for the first time...

I found it wild there is a ton of people there with my last name and I`m a West African with a indigenous name lol.

Keep your wallet in your front pocket.
Drink bottled water.
Mosquito spray should help but it never did for me.. just don't scratch.
I'm not too fond of giant cockroaches flying or other big insects but be prepared.
Cop some Nike Pilipinas gear there :nthat:

Stick to eating cooked food. I had a salad that was rinsed with their tap water once

Tons of shopping in Greenbelt and the surrounding area in general.

Mall of Asia is pretty cool if you can make it out there...

Foods and Services are cheap. I wouldn't go there to shop if your near Makati or the "rich" areas like Fort Bonafacio.

I only got sick once. I think it was the burger I ate at jollibee that had mayo in it. Next day I spent most of my time sitting on the toilet with a fever.

Had a bad infection from a mosquito bite on my leg, no lie it looked like a white tic tac popping out of my leg. Had to go to the doctor for that one.

I was in Palawan two years ago. Dope stuff. Def agree on the bottled water advice. I'm filipino and speak the language so I could finesse a couple things and not get targeted as a "tourist"

Enjoy the islands fam :pimp: can't wait to go back

Dang I guess I got lucky. Didn't get sick at all. Had mad halo-halo while I was over there and they probably used tap water for the ice. So I started drinking the water at restaurants too. Ate all the street food I could find too.

intestines, ears, fish balls, balut

Man, when I get home I'm gonna post all my food pics from the Philippines in here

Next time i'm there i'm going to the optometrist and getting a bunch of glasses. Basic medical stuff like that I assume is cheap. My dad took me to a dermatologist there and it was a hot gilf and she used a laser to smooth the skin on my face. Painful though.

Yo speaking of which, my dad got dentures made over there for like US$100. I think getting it done over here stateside would've been 10x more.

Also, apparently getting dentures made with braces built in is a thing over there. Filipinos... :smh:

I dont know if its just me but the Philippines has an extremely distinct smell.

Its not a food smell and its not a bad smell just a different smell.
I can't really describe it.

Alot of older filipinos houses smell like that.

Anyway.

Gotta ride in a tricycle.
Coconut milk in a bag.
Lechon.
The rice fields are beautiful.
That mega mall in manilla.
Dont know where your from but my mom is from the province (like the country) its a pretty cool experience.

The market....cock fights.

A lot of places using coconut oil to cook food surprised me. This was like 6-7 years ago. The soda over there tasted a little different but good.

Words out already but Palawan is where it's at. Get there before it turns into Boracay in the next couple years.

Believe it or not this was the view from a Starbucks lol

That same Starbucks
Man, I wish I took more pictures of non-food things. My dad was kinda paranoid about me carrying around my DSLR though

Do not drink the bottled water unless you buy it from the duty free store yourself.

They recycle the bottles and fill it up with tap water - i got sick off that ****.

from then on it was only either coke in a can or liquor (and water we bought from the duty free store ourselves)

I went to the phillipines in august 2014 with my pops. I didnt like ill never go back too much traffic. And some pnay came up to me and asked me if i wanted to have sex with her for 1000 pesos. I was like nope im good.everywhere you go there are beggers asking you for money. I dont like pnays i like spanish women. We went to Boracay also it was nice. At least i checked it off my bucket list that i visited my homeland. Mcdonalds in phillipines is nice too. If i get married might go to Boracay again for my honeymoon.

Don't think I can ever go back. That place is hell for people with sensitive skin. I can be sleeping in nets, cover myself in repellent and still come home with bites all over my legs.
