Question to all you OG's

Sold my collection of about 30-40 pairs of jays off in 2012. Just started copping used foams off of eBay to get what I wanted years back. Jordan will never get my money again. They hype and dumb raffle system ruined it for me. I almost didn't buy the red foam pros due to having to do a raffle for them smh, luckily I was able to walk in and cop. I went four years without buying any sneakers and just made sure I was clean and presentable of course lol. But I realized I can afford shoes now better than I could before. I'm only buying foams cuz I feel they are worth the money but only some of them will get the retail love from me, the rest will continue to be copped used off eBay. And I make sure to wear my sneaks anytime these work boots ain't on my feet. Got about 9 pairs of foams and I'm content with that. Just gonna continue to buy what I like and try not to pay these crazy retail of $250 plus tax on some of these smh. I try to cop for around $100 or so on the bay. Patience is key, I been done beating for sneaks. But I def wear them more than ever now for some reason. I guess I realized that they are just shoes

^ Co-sign everything sckid has said in this thread. Sums up where I'm at perfectly.

I'll never understand dudes who just stop caring about shoes. Can't ever see a point in time where I don't give a damn what I'm wearing on my feet.

I don't think anybody on here who at one point was deep into kicks ever stops caring about them like you suggest. Whatever shoe I put on still has to look proper on my feet, Laced correctly, fit flawlessly with my denim, look clean and not beat and all that but if you were to tell me that Air Jordan ___ was being retro'ed this Sat. there's a 75% chance I wouldn't hit up my people to lock in my pair. And the cooch definetly gravitates to a nice pair of dress shoes/boot's over the same retro everybody and they're little homies have.

Anybody here who has been rocking Jordan's since Michael was playing with the Bulls will feel me

I've been flipping used Js lately since I know I can make money off them. However I don't buy any Js for myself at all. Can't stand them on my feet. My whole style has changed since 07 when i started. I'd much rather have some nice boots to look like a boss and some UBs.

^ I broke out my goldenrod dunks the other day and I wasn't feeling them like I use to at all. Aesthetically I still love them but not on my feet.

When you take a step back and think about it, you are hoping to get more attention from men than women when it comes to having these damn shoes.

Folks will deny it though

That's how I feel about alot of my shoes these days.

I think it's time to narrow down the # of shoes I own.

Dudes who watch wrestling just want to see half naked muscular men grab on each other.

with the amount of kicks dropping weekly it makes no sense to pay retail unless its limited.

Oh yeah, because us guys care WAY MORE what a guy thinks about us over a girl.  *World's biggest eye roll*

This. I feel this way about most basketball retros and other higher cut joints (except AF1s and Dunks). They're awesome to look at and get all nostalgic about, but I look like a damn fool wearing them now.

Stop it, Jemele.

Chicks care about a mans shoes, but they also look crazy when told how much they run, then they say they cool but they wouldnt pay that...at least for sneakers.

With that said as long as they are clean and look good on you, you good to go

The only difference for me is consistency and style.

The love is still the same.

I dont buy sneakers at the same rate i did 10 years ago
And i dont buy the same "type" of sneakers i did 10 years ago

But i buy sneakers more than the average cat.

I promise u that

Pretty much this.

In my younger days I liked the loud flashy colors. Now I like that toned down and simple look like all black, or navy blue. Really mess with monotones. Lowkey and hides the branding
