Not really, you had a large segment of NYC folks that ONLY did da clue/slay/envy/lenny-s/ tapes when they weren't rockin albums.

I copped cash money albums as a form of musical adventurism, in da late 90's-early 00's so many people in their prime if u wanted to just stay NYC it could be possible and still know 95% of what was poppin on da scene.
Bro, if you wasn't messing with Cash Money, No Limit or their affiliates at the height of their success you were either a lame back then or you're lying now.

it was close to impossible if you were in the loop... There's other southern camps that ALWAYS had love in NY too;  Three Six Mafia, Eightball & MJG...

These were on EVERY MIXTAPE, NATIONWIDE... New York included:

These too...

This made me laugh hard as ****.

I thought that Three 6 Mafia Who Gives a F Where You're From was so hard. Joint had me hyped.

8Ball & MJG's first Bad Boy album was tough too. Had fire on there.

My man from Memphis used to play this **** daily.

Since we talking about Memphis, anybody can tell me what happened to Playa Fly?

As soon as you hear those brass horns in Down For My. Dun da-da dun dun da-da dun-dun, da-dun da-da dun dun da-da dun dun. It's like you just powered up to your final form like a Dragon Ball villain ready to wipe out mankind.

That era just had so much fight inducing music. Didn't even matter what region it came from. DMX, Petey Pablo, Lil' Jon, M.O.P., Bonecrusher, David Banner, etc.

:x You don't wanna be driving near me when this come on in the whip.

I hate, "Down for my Hittas".

Not because its a bad song, but the club in my hometown STILL plays this song to this day. :x

All you NY nincompoops can trace your family history back to the south though. Nas' dad is from Mississippi, and his moms family is from North Carolina.
