Lack of Ambition

Once she meets/finds another dude that doing better for himself and doing better that you, she gonna leave you b. That just facts. Get off your ***!!
"A woman's loyalty is tested when her man has nothing, a man's loyalty is tested when he has everything."

I feel this, but there's a difference between a man hitting hard times vs just not even trying.

But their vision tends to be clouded and not knowing which is which. Most people think that life is a sprint and not a marathon.

OP is clearly not trying.

We can drop so many gems but he has to want it for himself

Eh. I'm younger 25 I make more than you but honestly you don't have a bad situation. Your girl if she loves you she will stay with you. These days plenty of women make more than their men. As long as you aren't weighing her down you're good. Maybe you're not meant for the corporate hustle nothing wrong with that. Find a passion, it doesn't need to make money, you're far from poor

The gradual ascent. It's the "boring" stuff that makes a man. Daily rituals, successful habits. 1% better every day. Only industries for rapid, often short-lived ascent are entertainers and athletes.

We can drop so many gems but he has to want it for himself
Can't force the "dog"/fight in a man. You want it or you don't. You have it or you don't.

It may be just me, but i think $18 a hour is pretty good. I know many adults your age that don't make that type of money and never will.

Its decent especially if its full time. Not amazing but you can definitely get by.

Depends on where you live.

I'd imaging alot of this comes from pressured with her family aswell.

Both her parents are doctors and their highly educated daughter is dating a 28 y/o dude who lives at home and still values shoes. They (her parents) see that and she sees that aswell. The three of them envision her being with someone "successful" and right now you arent up to it.

With that said OP dont be better for this chick, be better for yourself. Things may or may not work out with her but if you're on a good path you'll find a good chick eventually.

Do you like your job? Do you like living with your parents?

In situations like this I really had to look at myself and list what I'm doing in my life, then marking which ones make me happy and which don't. The things I do like doing, I push to be more active in that. The things I don't like doing, I push to change them where I can. Sometimes the two can be related.

Really depends on locale, but $18 an hour while still living with your parents is fine anywhere.

I never lacked ambition, but maybe direction instead. I've always known what I'm capable of, I've just never known exactly what I wanted to do. Been out of college for 8 years and am still searching for the "right" career.

I'm not the type to just settle based on external or societal norms.

I'm the same exact way.

Always wanted more for myself but never specified my vision, which is effecting me in a big way. Always believed in my talents and what I can bring to the table but need to align it to the right opportunity. That's why I'm networking like crazy right now.

Don't feel too bad, I'm sure I'm older than you too

You need a vision/plan/purpose to know what to strive for each day, each moment. You can have all the ambition in the world but if not a sense of direction, you won't gain any progress. Had to learn the hard way, still learning...

Love this thread already!

Man honestly do what YOU want to do. I know this isnt a popular mindset but its one that ive recently picked up. Life is short and tomorrow isnt promised. Do what you want to do, live where you want to live, pay for what you want to pay for. Unless youre not feeling content with your life at the moment then other peoples opinions on how you want to live shouldnt matter. She may leave you, so what? The world is big. 7 billion people out here, youll both be fine if you all decide to take that route.

If you're comfortable where your life is at, do you OP.

Im 21 and I make $21/hr.

By 25 I hope to be kicking down 75k/yr at least.

Different strokes. Get out of life what you want, we only get 1 shot at this b.

If you're content and happy, all you.

Id say i have a lack of ambition.. I keep going on and off in college not knowing what to do and working some ****ty seasonal job for how many years...While living at my parent home.

I was 25 i quit that seasonal job and got this other job in the airport making 13/hr there fulltime. Couple months later got hired working for the city making $20/hr.

Now almost a year later and about to turn 27 end of next month. My airport job im making $18/19 an hour part time and my city job ill be making $26/hour fulltime.

Making the most money ever made in my life... Plan on leaving that airport job for a number of reasons...

Sometimes i gotta remind myself how blessed and fortunate ive came up within the last 13 months... Get kinda lost.doing all this work.
