What makes Kanye iconic is the fact that we all CANNOT agree on his GOAT album. Each of his albums mean something different to all of us, they were a moment in time that connected with us on an individual level but also had universal appeal. That's how you know an artist is legendary.

To me, MBDTF is his best work. Sonically it's flawless but the theme's about self destruction and awareness connected with me. At the same time, the hunger and optimism of College Dropout will always be special to me. The stadium rock star sound and feel of Graduation will always be banger material. His music transcends so many different emotions and tastes, he truly evolved for over a decade and I'd be genuinely sad if he starts to lose it as an artist.

Basically

Kanye's Behind the Music segment is going to be crazy the day it comes out. I suspect it will fill in a lot of holes.

Roses is Kanye in his purest form.

No Concequence/ Rhymefest influence, no "this is art" nonsense.

Son spiting flows, pouring it out, sample that gives your chills.

If you listen to Herd em Say and Roses, you hear Kanye's real flow/style that still comes out in some other tracks from time to time.
When my grandmother passed away I couldn't listen to Roses. Would start crying as soon as the beat started...damn near teared up thinking about it now. :frown: :smh:

Yeah it dropped around the time my grandfather passed

Son used to drop that food for your soul

So what are we doing in here? Coming to the conclusion that he is legit crazy?

Like, are we judging Kanye now?

Or are we just bored?

I don't think anyone should doubt that he's crazy.

There is usually something off about a good bit of extremely genius level creative types.

A little crazy is good. You kinda have to be a little crazy and delusional to see yourself where Kanye saw himself 15-20 years ago. I think 50 actually said something like that.

That being said, I think with Rhymefest and Malik Yusef saying something + the rants and randomly coming at people he was **** riding weeks ago (defending Drake against Cudi and then turning around and calling Drake out) is kinda unusual for Ye.

For someone who always put meticulous effort and put himself into debt to have the best creative output, walking away from a show and abruptly ending probably one of the biggest tours of the year aside from beyoncé and Summer 16 is unusual for Ye.

lately he's just been doing **** that's weird to who we know him as in the public eye. even in his speech, there were times where he started saying "i'm on my trump ****" and the crowd booed and he started mocking the crowd.

drugs and lack of sleep along with wealth, fame and freedom to do what he wants + unresolved issues with his mothers death and who knows what else that man got going on

all could be culminating into a mid life mental breakdown

he should just move to hawaii for a year with just his family and the finest maui wowie and just raise his kids and make music and design for fun (as opposed to having to meet deadlines and contracts and ****) and come back to us with whatever he made

Yeah you can bet this will probably result in a great album.

Like I said earlier, he probably feels that he can't create without some sort of adversity. He has everything he longed for on 808s and more and probably deep down still isn't happy with the idea of being...happy.

Being famous/wealthy/whatever is probably wild for your mental state. A lot of these ****** don't even know what they are chasing.

Kanye is really ahead of his time - he gave us Diamonds, Jesus, Yeezy's - what sounds crazy at the time should be given time to development. He deserves the platforms he chooses. We should listen and not try to weaken him. #Kanye4Prez

Kanye has showed me one thing.... if you call yourself a genius long enough people will start to believe it. I am a Kanye fan but as a writer he lyrics dont come across a man that is a genius or even a well educated person. As a producer he list of beats aren't as long as Timberland, Pharrell, and Swiss.

Kanye has ranted enough to elevate himself while guys like Pharrell who are soft spoken been making songs, beats, clothes, and designing shoes for years aren't proclaimed a genius because he doesn't tell people he is and selects to let his art/work speak for themselves.

I wish for Kanye to get better and hope him the best in the future but I can't rock with all the genius and iconic talk. I will agree he is very influential and I admire his drive because he was deterimind to be successful. But when you look at the artist history there are many people who have done or made more impact than Kanye but are lost in the weeds because they don't self promote themselves.

THIS. U hit the nail on the head. He's not a top-5 producer in rap...and as a MC...don't even get me started. But yea..."genius." According to Kanye.

Laugh all u want...this:

better than anything Kanye has put out in the past 5 years or so.

Who's your top 5 producers? I know It's all about opinions and different eras but it's hard not to put Kanye in top 5 for rap producers.
