Gorilla shot after 4yr old falls in enclosure VOL.....RIP HARAMBE

and what if while "protecting" the child's head get smashed on a rock and dies.

hypothetical situations out the window.

parents make mistakes. just because you lose your child once you become a terrible parent? c'mon man.

the severity of the situation doesn't make her a terrible anything, but were quick to say that because a gorilla died.
So when does the accountability start?

When a parent takes their kid near an open killer whale tank?

When a parent takes their kid on a boat?

When a parent takes their kid on a roof?

When a parent takes their kid to see a geyser?

When a parent looks the other way while their kid is near a busy car lane?

I'm genuinely curious.
Team Any Human > Team Silverback Gorilla.
This is silly. There is plenty of trash and scum that will kill you for the change in your pocket or the voices in their head.

Don't get me started on stupid  Trump supporters.

You know what you're getting with a gorilla. Well some of you do.. Some of you seem to know nothing about animals. Gorillas have clearly nurtured other species in the past. Plus, He's in his own ******* habitat at the zoo!!!

If there's a human being in the clutches of a Silverback Gorilla, I don't have he time to take inventory on their life accomplishments and how good a person is.

I get the logic, but it doesn't apply here.

accountability starts once they pop out. she made a mistake. she ****** up. i understand that.

but why are we shaming her to gain sympathy points for a gorilla.

you want a better place to live, we make her a better parent to help raise a better child, not just write her off completely.

Blows my mind. Y'all are cool wth caging them up in our neighborhoods, but as soon as a gorilla acts like a gorilla and we need to act everyone is shocked.

It's a gorilla. We placed it in an unnatural environment. This is he type of stuff that comes with caging giant animals for our amusement.

So you gon be the kids stepfather? What do you want people to do?

People look to Facebook users and social media for the answer.

Let's hope child services helps her and the family out by becoming involved in their lives temporarily

Y'all?

Zoos are stupid. Aint no one cosigning zoos in here except ninjahood and koopa

What is your sample size. What criteria are you using to create such a hierarchy?

just look at every media outlet covering this story. no sympathy for the child or the mother.

thousands of people are signing a petition to press charges against the parents for the negligence.

Why should there be sympathy for her?

I would love to see an investigation done (not that it would happen) as to how the child got away from the mom long enough to go around multiple obstacles, and end up in the pit. Like, what was the mom doing at that time? The boy was talking about getting in to the pit... :smh:

I don't know about you (if you're a parent or not), but in a crowded place like a zoo, my child is right next to me, most likely holding my hand at all times. Especially at 3 years old.

That parent deserves any criticism that comes her way. Due to her negligence, an endangered animal is dead.

It doesn't apply in the story per se. It applies to your simplifying, Team Any Human > Team Silverback Gorilla.

The gift of being born as a human, doesn't inherently make you "good".

You jumped into the convo late bruh. Ain't nothing cool about locking up a gorilla. The gorilla protected the kid. They shot the gorilla just in case he became violent by tranq gun.

Ido how your state works but with any incident related to a child being put in harms way DCPP always becomes involved even if less than a month.

A child can be hospitalized for suicidal thoughts. DCPP will open a case.

The same would be applicable in this situation

Sad to see Cincy zoo with the negative light. Amazing zoo, great record overall, terrible incident. I'm at that gorilla enclosure every other weekend probably

Have you seen the full video yet or just edited?

So if the kid dies while the gorilla is 'protecting' him and we get video of a Silverback Gorilla killing a child as he dragged him through the water then what? Or what if he gets violent. Mind you this is all on video. Then what?

she almost lost her child. as a parent you should feel for that. whether or not its her fault, she almost lost her child.

It didn't become violent. The child did not die.

Due to the gorilla or negligence?

I'm sure she's beating herself up over the latter.

So if the kid fell on his head on his fall down? What then? You gonna shoot the concrete?

"According to police reports, the father has a lengthy criminal history spanning years with charges including burglary, firearms offences, drug trafficking, criminal trespass and kidnap."

Maybe the dude turned his life around but having at least 5 kids is not a good look when you have to fix your own life, I'm sure the parenting received isn't exceptional.
