I will give a historic example.

Remember when Jamal Crawford played for the Knicks and he would, every blue moon, do the off the backboard dunk.

Well, ever since the FIRST one he did, 2K overrated his dunk rating.

The dunk rating (back then) determined how flashy and how frequently a player dunked. Jamal didn't dunk often AT ALL. He did a fancy dunk and 2K boosted his dunk rating for YEARS.

So this is basically how I got into roster making. I used to complain about the FAKENESS in dunks in the 2K series. This probably dates back to 2K3. I used to "cry" so much on OperationSports man. They listened, and the dunks have been toned down considerably.

But, the Jamal example was one.

Ahhh...gotcha. Makes perfect sense.

In your opinion, which player benefits from the most egregious of ratings in this year's 2k game? Whether it's for dunks, shooting, dribbling, defense, etc.?

I can see a defensive rating being through the roof just because of gaudy steal numbers (word to Larry Hughes), even though they may be sub-par defenders in reality.
 
If a player is rated in the 90s, there is no way he reached that level if he isn't a good defensive player.

Steph Curry is rated a 93.

His defensive ratings are highly inflated

80 Defensive Consistency
77 On Ball D

Those are just two of them. All of his individual defensive stats are overrated. (Not Steals).

But in their defense, the casuals have to see him as the #1 rated player in the game. If he wasn't, people would bash 2K. So they have to make sure he is the highest rated, by any means necessary.

this company is hilarious man. What they want us to do is delete the game and install it over again LOLOLOLOLOL

telling us not to delete the reserved space but yet thats the only way the damn game will work. Sometime and i mean sometimes you can restart the game and have it load up BUT most of the time you need to delete the reserved space. FACTS
 
Good stuff, DC. Once you get everything situated with the free agents, etc., I'm thinking of stopping my current season, and starting a new one w/ your rosters.

i have no issues.

i hit green 3pts with a 60 ovr shot.

i get 12-15 assists with no turnovers with 66 playmaking.

i dunk, in traffic (not regularly) with a 61 dunk in traffic with a 6'5" PF.....

last time imma say it in this thread: slow down.

yeah, you can throw the ball out of bounds passing 5 feet to a guy on the wing.....if you're sprinting 10 possessions in a row.

slow down. walk the ball up.

don't NBA players in real life walk the ball up court?

everyone is always quick to say what's not realistic in the game

what isn't realistic in your play style?

they don't call blocking fouls in the NBA? if they called a realistic amount of calls in 2k dudes would have mental breakdowns LOL

of course there will always be glitches and problems with video games.....i have always chalked that up, in sports games, to random things that happen in sports; i.e. lucky bounce, home court advantage, etc.

in football games its the same way.

i think people are just used to easy games and can't accept challenges. too used to "accessible" games

everyone is supposed to shoot 100% and never have any turnovers and that's the only way the game isn't broken.

now if you're gripe is with servers....i got nothing for you. the servers are buns.

you have to meet up in mypark to go to pro am, because it doesnt take everyone from your court....which just overloads mypark servers LOL



in other news

i'm working on the HoF badges for my lockdown defender and defensive stopper is the WORST.

easily the hardest badge to get in the game.

so lockdown guards get pick dodger (LOL) and pick pocket (eek) HoF

but forwards and centers get rim protector and chase down artist.

i'd, of course, love to swap out chase down for pick pocket...but i like how each have a BS badge and a OP badge as trade off.

if i had HoF pick pocket i'd strip everyone every possession lol

the other day i was running pro am with a

paint protector 7'1"

me, lockdown PF 6'5"

lockdown SF 6'7"

slasher 6'8"

and

lockdown PG 6'4"

it was definitely LULZ

i'd love to run a real team with all lockdown defenders..

have cats under PRESSURE

I've started to use Utah, problem is when I practice shooting with Gordon or Rodney I can't miss, but during the game they miss too much. Open, uncontested, whatever.... is there a jump shot fix, especially for Rodney. I'm talking about off-line/season/play now. He misses, and bad, and I've practiced my #%^ off, any help.

In real life NBA players do t miss in practice either.

Can you post video proof of how often thosr open shots are missed.

I mean there is a chance you are doing something differently as well to make them miss
 
If anybody is starting or interested in starting a pro am team to win that bread let me know I'm on PS4 I've got a sf,c,& pg so I'll play whatever

Just got this for xbone. Why are the controls so awkward :lol:. It feels nothing like playing real basketball. Might just need some more time with it
 
How i probably suck when youre my fan? Keep crying about blocking fouls lmao ill keep playing on ranked pro am teams, winning by 30 and loving the game.

Only people frustrated by the game are frustrated because they are unsuccessful. The players enjoying success arent frustrated.

Take more of your frustrations out me, its okay, because i enjoy success in the game.

you stay frustrated that you lose more than win. Ill keep having fun outshooting sharpshooters with a lockdown defender.
