Stephen Curry’s “middle-aged dad sneakers” are being mercilessly mocked by the internet

The majority of people making fun of these are probably the same ones who think that you'll tear your ACL in a pair of Adidas, that all white shoes = dad shoes, and that only wear Nike/Jordan

Ironically a certain pair of all white adidas are the most (or at least one of the most) sought after GR release this year...

if you like em you like em, is what it is i guess

i literally dont know anyone who likes them at all but then again i know ppl who are more into style (no shots)

da only thing that intrigued me in that article is how much quiet money Nike is making from those Air Monarchs...
Fun fact: it's Nike's best selling shoe ever.
It's a work shoe, court shoe, walking shoe, and it's comfortable. Just an all-around shoe.

Comparatively speaking, the Curry joints aren't as bad as they're making them out to be. ****** just like to fit in and clowning them/making memes was the "cool" thing to do this week.

No way a person can objectively look at the top shoes out right now (Jordan 30s, Lebron 13s, KD 8s, etc) and say the Currys are that far off.

I actually think people know this, and theyre making the jokes/memes just to be funny and arent actually hating on the shoes.

Its an all white low top shoe, of course its going to be compared to other all white low top shoes.

I dont think the shoes are ugly at all, but I also find some of the memes/jokes pretty funny too.

Joints are mad generic. It makes you appreciate the marketing beast that is nike that much more. Takes more than a big name to sell products.

They look like they should be priced under $80 but since curry is the MVP and may win another chip they are going to ask for $120.

Not sure I follow what you're saying.

The shoes look generic and deserve to be made fun of. That's what it comes down to.
I'm saying people are hating on it because it's not a popular brand. Also, considering these are inspired by his "Chef Curry" nickname, UA didn't really have color options since chef attire is plain white clothing.
1. i dunno who the f gave you a rep for that statement

2. that was just stupid

3. the sneakers flat out SUCK
1. Me neither

2. How was it stupid when there are literally people out there who are apprehensive about buying Adidas shoes for fear of injury, who consider the Air Monarch in the white colorway as one of the staple "dad shoes," and who only buy Nike/Jordan? You don't think brand "elitism" played a factor in people hating on these?

3. Other colorways of the same model were well-received/at least not made into an internet meme so the model didn't "suck," so you must be referring to the colorway. Given Steph's nickname, there's only so much UA could do with it considering it was inspired by all-white chef attire.

This is a solid point. Maybe I should qualify my statement saying any bulky-shaped all-white shoes since people like sleek-silhouetted all-white runners. AF1s get a pass since they're classics.

Believe me, I don't like them, I'm just surprised they got so much hate. In my opinion, they're not THAT bad.

did not realize thats why they called them "chef"

i don't think theres anything necessarily "wrong" with them but theres nothing really right lol

if they had a big nike swoosh instead of that ua they definitely wouldn't get as much hate.

theres nothing really new or ground breaking or different about them...just a really really average shoe.

As said in another thread, the ua looks like crap on shoes. They either need to create a logo for shoes or just put the regular logo on the tongue or heel tabs.

I feel like the lebron 13 deserves all the slander the curry is getting. Those are by far some of the ugliest shoes I've ever seen, ever. The curry just looks like a cheap target sneaker, the 13 looks like when doing too much goes wrong. Shame how nike ran that line into trash, 8-11 were so fire.
