2016 Official NBA Off-Season Thread: Former Greatness

I can see it now. Just like with Kobe, when Lebron is 34, 35 dudes will be like "Yes! Yes! He's slowing down" like it ain't natural for players to slow down going into their mid 30's. I can easily see Lebron being a 20 and 8 player in probably his last 2 seasons.

Dudes been saying for a while he lost some bounce, while in the finals his athleticism was on full display at both ends of the court. Stop.

why do we even have a regular season if nobody pays attention to the first 82 games? lebron showed hes been slowing down ALL SEASON. he still gets up but his head aint at the rim anymore. chasedown blocks are rare if they happen at all. footwork hasnt been there. HOWEVER, dude had an incredible block and some big dunks in the post season... so lets just forget about all year. dude had 5 incredible dunks and a ridiculous block therefore he hasn't lost anything. those <10 highlights from the postseason tell u more than the 82 regular season games?

i dont know what yall think sometimes.

I doubt very seriously Lebron even wants to play until he's in his late 30s-40.

His legacy is nearly complete...if he's not in a position to seriously contend it will certainly influence his future. Let's just assume Golden State becomes this dynasty...I can't see Bron playing for 2nd place for 8-9 more years.
I CAN see this happening. i can see him walking away before he becomes extra washed.

he wont let himself become washed imo. i say by 2018 you will see lebron shooting a lot more. and all the paint driving toned down significantly. one thing i gave more credit to lebron for than anyone else, is he improves some facet of his game every summer. hes gonna switch it up soon to extend his career. not only that, but if lebron really develops a shot... there is no way to guard him. u have to respect the shot and play close, so hes gonna blow by. if u respect the drive and give space, hes gonna cash out. if you use help defense to cover the drive AND shot, hes kicking out to someone whos probably open. thered be nothing you could do

We must've been watching 2 different Lebron's cuz I ain't see a dude that was slowing down. Some of y'all dudes be looking for **** so any lil thing you'll blow it up. At times it was clear he was pacing but slowing down? Nah. Slowing down is when your body won't let you do something.
i guess he just set his dial for run and jump to 80% this year. he was just pacing/maintaining himself. sure thing. yall see what you want to see, not whats in front of you. agree to disagree.

I think he was just playing smarter. Like he became more cerebral than anything. He wasn't trying to dominate the straight 48, as in going a 100 mph every play, I think he still can, but it isn't needed.

Dudes want him to be like 2k Lebron. He aint slowed down at all.

LeBron has "slowed" down but I feel it's due to him just conserving his energy instead of getting older. Dude is legit getting better imo

Few quick thoughts.

Salute Tim Duncan on a outstanding career. Respect

The Wizards offseason was a disaster. They will be better next season but I'm unsure if it'll result in a playoff appearance.

KD is a BAN.

Did the manifesto ever see the light of day?
nope

Just going by what I can watch bruh. Look like the same dude through the playoffs.

Did people just forget Lebron playing basically like Tim Duncan in the post in his Heat years? Dude will just move to the 4 full time once he can no longer run around on the perimeter; 260 pounds is still heavier than most centers
