Boy stop
Please keep going.

The Orlando Magic won 35 games last year..

For those who believe the thunder will be bad, how bad are we talking?

41 games got you the 8th seed in the west last year

Not sure home many times I've said this today, that is why abrines can have a significant role on the team (at the very least we know he can shoot)

Kanter can shoot 3s and from the wings.. Ilyasova can also shoot

Then we'll see how Payne improves in his 2nd year.. Morrow is still on the team and singler

Money move or not Russ is still a stand up dude for giving OKC an extra year at least to show him they can become legit contenders again without Durant. For some strange reason i feel they'll swing a deal for a Boogie Cousins or someone of that nature that will propel them back to serious title contenders

interested in seeing how russ plays long term without durant. he going to be doubled constantly now and its all on him at the end of games now and we know hes not good  under pressure/crunch time .

With the perfect storm, OKC can grab a 5th or 6th seed.

In all likelihood, they'll probably be 7th to 9th seed out west.

Russ doesn't shoot well enough and flat out isn't good enough to carry an offense by himself, and that team finish higher than like a 6th seed. If they finish with the 6th seed, I would consider that a success.

If i'm not mistaken, Russ was an assist machine last year but over half of his assist came via the combos of Russ to KD and Russ to Serge on pick and pop action. He'll still get his numbers, but they won't be nearly as efficient and the Thunder will be on the losing end of a lot of his spectacular nights.

42-40.

i agree with this completely . 1st round and out is they ceiling with the current makeup of this squad, unless they get lucky like portland did this year. portland wasnt a real 2nd round caliber squad . was a total fluke. . people forgetting who westbrook is and are really overlooking all his flaws and what we know bout him. cant shoot , bad at finishing at the rim , doesnt have the benefit of playing one on one anymore, bad in crunch time , low iq and bad decision maker.  he may get a lot of assist but its misleading. he cant run a offense good.

yeah i know everyone mad at  durant now  buts let be real. durant is  the better player easily.

It's weird seeing KD with a fresh cut constantly.

Surprised he hasn't been asked about Russ' extension.

Actually I'm sure he has, I'll have a look.

Also, here's a thought: teams don't have to game plan for Russ AND Kevin friggin' Durant anymore (and subsequent wide open shooters because of them). That was such a tremendous advantage. It's all gone. Also, they lost 14 feet worth of defensive length in KD and Ibaka, who could both defend on the perimeter. That's going to hurt.

Staying in OKC was probably the smartest thing for Westbrook to do from a legacy perspective. He wasn't going to win a ring over these overpowered Warriors by going anywhere else except Cleveland or San Antonio which would've required one hell of a paycut. So since he won't win a ring, he's going for what's most realistic - the MVP.

He'll be one of the favorites, if not the favorite to win the award, especially now that he has the "good guy, he stayed with his team" image going for him. And while having the Thunder all to himself and assuming he stays healthy, he could average a 30-8-9 statline next season, albeit with low FG% and high turnovers. If he can get the Thunder past 50 wins, he'll probably get it. Him, LeBron and Kawhi are the only three candidates unless either Durant or Curry get injured early in the season and the Warriors win around 65 with the one of the two who is playing averages great numbers.

He'll probably go for the ring after this 3 year contract expires.
