 I'd be salty too. He was balling for them in the playoffs that one year. When you think about Jack the past couple seasons, he's been better than Lin in my eyes... he's 32 tho so I understand the Nets vision.

Beal's max was expected. It's a good gamble to make on a just turned 23 year old. He's got to find a way to stay healthy. That's the biggest risk with the contract.

He's never been healthy, I don't think it's gonna start now.

Doctors even said he has chronic problems with his leg and should never play more than 30 mins a game.

Guys can overcome health problems. Steph Curry comes to mind.

Also, that minutes cap was at 35...

While Beal's injury history is a long one, a person with knowledge of the situation told CSN a few weeks ago that number will be 35 minutes.

He played about 31mpg, which was about the same as guys like Kyrie Irving, Love, Aldridge, etc.

I'm not concerned with the minutes cap the team came up with. He's just got to stay on the floor. The Bradley Beal we saw in the playoffs 2 years ago was dynamic. I just hope that he can get to that level on a consistent basis. As I said before, this was a good gamble to take to give him the max.

Brooklyn Nets cap situation. Still over $40m in room left after the Lin agreement. http://yhoo.it/290iC0n

Curry had ankle issues, not really comparable to chronic stress fractures in your leg.

Although both the Noah & Mozgov deals are bad in terms of years... And about $4mil / year each too high.. (Don't think they're bad fit signings though)

In the back of my mind, I will end up elevating the signings because there's a handful of teams like the Nets with $30+mil in cap space still... That likely will inflate the market for Biyombo, Ezeli & Mahinmi.

Mahinmi and Biyombo were still better signings than Moz or Noah though, even if they're getting 17-18 million a year.

Those Moz/Noah contracts lose value from the 1st year, that's just idiotic.

This is the same deal we saw NO give Asik even with new cap adjustments, it's horrible.

Ankle issues that required surgery. It was a chronic problem.

Lin to the Nets was the easiest move to predict.

Prior connection with the new head coach? I know dude is big on developmental, I can't remember if I read they crossed paths or not.

Lin for $12M AAV is absolutely a good deal in this market. That's gonna look even better next year.

Nets are still gonna be some trash though.

@hongcouver604
booking flights to JFK in the fall as we speak.
Yeah, Coach Atkinson was an assistant coach during Linsanity for the Knicks.

twitter comments are actually kinda funny for that Jack tweet

lol posting a pic of his age "know our age bro"

Biyombo was rumored around $17-18mil before Free Agency began. Have to doubt that is still the case. Has to be closer to a max deal now, if not a max

Mahinmi is a valid test case, we'll have to see what he gets first

Safe to say theres gonna be a lockout next season...

I doubt it

I remember ESPN article that NBA HQ sent a memo to 30 teams about salary cap changes. The NBA won't change salary cap unless owners approve it. So owners must have seen this situation coming

$98 mill non-state tax over four years

Wade must be pissed off if he doesn't get a max contract from the Heat organization

Yea and he still didn't miss as much games as Beal has through his 1st 4 years.

He also played over 70 games a season every year besides 1.

Beal has played over 70 games in a season once in his career.

Chronic ankle problems are easier to fix than repeat stress fractures, come on b.

You can give Curry a dead mans ankle, they aren't growing new bones for Beal.
