OFFICIAL 2016 FANTASY FOOTBALL THREAD

The biggest question is what to do with RB this year.

Top dogs are either coming back from injury or have questions of usage.

Who it everyones top 5 rbs?

Mine:

Gurley

AP

Bell(hurt/suspension)

JC(hurt/usage)

DJohnson(usage)
I'd go...
AP
Bell
Gurley (Soph "slump" ....just think he falls off a little bit)
Freeman (Don't love)
JC

My strategy last year with RB's was essentially to not draft them. Just use up a lot of your FA auction money to sign back-up RBs after the starter gets hurt. Worked great. (Freeman and D Johnson were monsters.)

Personally, I love dudes like Nelson and Benjamin this year.
I can't get on board with Jordy at all. Coming off of a missed season from an ACL tear and he's already injured his other knee in training camp. But he's still being drafted early in the 2nd round. Too much risk for me.

And while Benjamin has looked good, I'm still not sure I can get behind his 3rd-4th round price tag.

When will the final ruling on Bell's suspension come? Still pissed he keeps getting suspended smh

Going this approach as well..especially if I'm drafting outside the top spot

I see no harm in having two-RB2s type guys instead of an RB1 and a falloff.

Early 2nd for Jordy? Waaaay too early. I was thinking in the 20-25 spot.

Regarding Benjamin, I think I'd pull the trigger in the 4th. No earlier though.

Jordy got tendinitis is his knee right now and hasn't even started practicing yet. I'd wait till the 3rd to grab him instead of the 2nd. Word out of panthers camp though is that KB has looked great so far. Late 3rd or early 4th looks like a great spot to get him.

Doing my first auction draft this year. Any advice?

What's the cap?
Either way... Save. Your. Money.
Let people go ape sh-t the first 5 - 10 people... $50/$60 for one player is never worth it. Easy math, to a $100 cap that's 50% - 60% of your cap to one person. Never going to win a chip that way.

Always have a cap to a singular player either in your head or written down. If it goes over what you value him, oh well. It goes over.

There will be GEMS left over for $10 and under by the end of the draft, keep that in mind.

I love auctions.

Yeah auction drafts are great. I'm trying to get into an auction league this year.

A small but useful tip I have: throw out a kicker for your first selection (Gostkowski or whoever you believe to be the best.) Bid $1 on him. If you get him, great, you're set at kicker early. If people outbid you, even better. They just wasted valuable money on a kicker.

RB's thoughts for ya'll guys this year?

IMO I'm not touching Elliot with a 1st round pick this year and David Johnson scares me.

1A/1B AP/Gurley (Gurley slight nod for PPR)
after that is a crapshoot.

I love Lamar Miller this year though in that Texans offense. The middle tier group seems much more value then a top pick this year IMO.

Lacy, Rawls, Ingram, Martin, Mccoy, Forte, Murray, Hill, Stewert, etc.

Who are ya'll targeting in that middle tier?

Initially I would say Julio then and load up everywhere else knowing you are getting two wide receivers you can start in a PPR league every week.  Running backs are such a crap shoot that if you load up on quality starters you are going to get a solid backfield.

But on the other hand you could probably take a Brandon marshall/alshon Jeffrey in the second round or possibly a dez/Hopkins combo in the first round and be set at receiver and just need another RB.

**** it, take gurley for the 5th round pick and load up receiver/receiver in the first two rounds.

All of this. I would have said keep Julio also but if you can hold onto your RB1 without having to attempt to draft him (whoever he may be if it isn't Gurley), you're in the clear.

just locked in my 2 keepers, went AB and gurley. thanks guys :nthat:

now im just hoping to get 1st pick so I can grab Julio

I like Gore, Matt Jones, and Langford in the middle to later rounds.  All three should get the lions share of carries as well.

But for the people listed above, Lacy is going to high for my liking so I'm lookin at Rawls, Ingram, Martin, and Forte.  Rawls, Ingram, and Lacy are all getting selected in the 2-3 rounds in standard leagues so it depends where you are looking selecting a running back.  In a 12 team league, Rawls, Ingram, and Lacy will all be gone by the end of round 3.

Been doing some mocks since last night & my team always ends up looking something like this:

Brees
McCoy
Forte
Hopkins
Allen
Walker
Sanders

5th pick, 10-tm PPR. Any thoughts?

LOVE LOVE LOVE Dion Lewis this year.

Thoughts on David Johnson?

Strongly considering picking him 5th overall over Hopkins.

Auction is the only way to go IMO. I don't know what the standard cap is but mines has always been $200.

My advice is to list 5-6 non-QB players (i.e., studs) you know you want on your team. Once set, those are the guys you will break the bank for. And by break the bank, I mean you'll pay 20-30% of your cap for. The worst thing you can do for an auction draft is go in without a plan, or be stingy with your money seeking value and missing out on studs, and then end up overpaying for mediocrity/bums.

There will be great value picks and steals as the auction progresses. You'll get some solid players for 1-2% of the cap (including your QBs). But make sure to get your studs.

if hopkins is there id take him. i wouldnt mind waiting til the 4th/5th to snag latavius/demarco/dion lewis combo later on the draft. after the first 2 rounds its hard to find that stud WR unless you want larry fitz as your WR1

Hey what's up guys I just take over a three man keeper team. Well the keepers are optional so you can keep from 0-3 it's PPR scoring by the way.

Here are my keeper options

Aaron Rodgers but it will cost me a first round pick

Randall Cobb will cost me a 1st round pick so if I keep both Rodgers I'm out of my first 1st and 2nd Round picks. If I keep just Cobb I'll be out of a 1st round pick.

Julian Edelman will cost a 3rd Round pick

Derrick Carr 14th Round Pick
Donte Moncrief 18th Round Pick

I'm really leaning towards the last two though the value is going to be nice. It's PPR scoring btw

In addition I have the 6th pick definitely don't know who to take there since most of the top guns will be gone.
