I guess maybe because I view the term as something middle school girls call eachother; I am dismissive of it.

But also, when I think of "Best Friend," I think of someone you can tell everything to and they are your first point of contact for everything.

If you have a solid group of friends, of course depending on the subject matter, they wouldn't be your first point of contact? 

But I guess it depends on what you are talking about.

I say all of that to say that I think the, "Best Friend Talk" is just a label people like to use when posting about their s/o on social media

Honestly, this is very true and something every relationship needs to strive for. But from my experience, none of it matters without both parties willing to make things work when the going gets tough.

Being in a relationship with another human being isn't always going to be "sunshine and rainbows". There will be times when things are tough. For me, finding that person that's willing to stick it out and work on issues rather than being predisposed toward walking away from them is the single most effusive trait I could ever want in a woman.

I always give women the "restaurant test" before deciding whether or not I want to pursue any sort of amorous engagement. More often than not, you can tell how a woman behaves around other people by how she treats the server at a restaurant. If she treats the server with disrespect, chances are she'll treat other people the same way.

Another method is observing how she behaves with her father. You'll get a pretty good idea of how she treats men just by observing her relationship with her father.
