Yeah, I hate how they need to create a story for every athlete they show. Just give us tidbits like what her favorite food is. They do the same ish with American Ninja Warrior where they tell everyone's sad story. I don't need to hear that stuff.
 
^^^The stories is part of the Olympics. Give them the human sentimental touch, before they go out there and compete.

As much as people talk trash on NBC for the coverage. I like it :smokin Primetime Swimming, gymnastics and T&F :smokin

just to carry over a conversation I was having in the women of the Olympics thread, before this thread was made..

if I had to rank the dominance of the swimming women, I would go:

1) ledecky - I put her first, because the events that she dominates (400 and above) no one else in the history of the sport is any where near her.. the records she's breaking are her own and the 2nd fastest woman ever, is no where close to her

- ledecky will probably win the 200 free, but sjostrom will give her a fight

- if she tapered for the US trials, she would have been swimming the 100 free here too.. I don't think she would have won a medal, but I don't put shhh past her.. would probably rank her 6th fastest in the world in that event (2 campbells, sjostrom, weitziel and another Australian)

2) hosszu - while she dominates the 2 and 4 IMs.. she didn't have the WR in the 4IM until a couple days ago.. and while she has the WR in the 2 IM, she broke it last year at the world championships by .03

- she's very good in a bunch of other events and can win medals.. but it'll be a fight (200 back is probably her best 3rd chance at gold)

3) sjostrom - no one is coming close in the 100 fly, as you guys saw.. she'll be in the fight with ledecky for the 2 free.. and in the fight for a medal in the 50 and 100 frees

4) cate Campbell - she should win the 50 and 100 free pretty easily

My g from Japan who just won gold in judo gave zero dambs. My mans sauntered off the mat like it was nothing. :lol:

she's got her sister by like 2-3 inches height wise.. Cate is 6'1

She's the one who broke the 100 free WR just before Olympics and came close to the 50 WR

Meanwhile, if you take ledecky's 1st 100 and her last 100 from her 400 free last night, she would be seeded 3rd in the 200 final
