Parents Imposing a vegan diet to children in Italy may risk Jail time.

Does a 95% vegetarian have any value?

I've taken huge strides to limit my consumption of meat to 1-2 times a month but there are some delicacies that I will simply never swear off because they just bring me too much pleasure(Ribs, various ethnic delicacies).

I equate it to air travel. When you fly you're contributing to something that's horrible for the environment, but I've met eco-friendly hippie types who've traversed every corner of Thailand and Laos just because traveling gets their rocks off.

I don't really see the difference. So yeah, that's cool that you went Greek island hopping last spring and you're about to hit up St. Maarten when it gets chilly. Is it cool if I eat pig 10 times a year?

If you guys want to make this the thread, post your meals, and post recipes as well.

I got a lot of solid recipes. Also got a few egg replacers for baking/cooking.

that's a genuine question though. stop being so defensive and insecure.
if vegans are worried about animal cruelty you would think that they live like tibetan buddhists where every animal is as important as the next.

or is that most vegans just do it to help themselves sleep better at night like they are on some moral high horse because they don't eat meat.

im genuinely curious because my girl's little sister is a vegan because of animal cruelty but she seems like she doesn't know what she is at times or why she is really doing it.

it's ok to just answer the question but if it's funny to you then this question was for someone who isn't in their feelings

To answer you're question roaches and rats gotta be dealt with Vegan or not. Now if you're comparing getting rid of an infestation in your home to the billions of animals that the U.S runs through a year. I can't comprehend.

Another question.
If everybody went Vegan would there be enough food to go around globally? To feed over 6 billion?

Would we diminish the plant life so bad that it affects the oxygen production of Earth?
Or would we have too many animals forcing us to kill some of them to control their population?

So right now livestock takes up 1/3rd of earths land.

That's only because a lot of em are kept in facilities. If you were to actually have them all free range / grass Fed we would need like 8 planets to have enough room.

Animal agriculture is responsible for 80-90% of U.S water consumption.

That doesn't mention all the deforestation that is going on daily to create more room and all the crops that we grow to feed them. We are pretty giving animals all our resources while we have people dying of starvation. So from a sustainability standpoint we would be Gucci if we ate more plants.

Also 6 Billion people to feed is a drop in the bucket, the U.S alone runs through that many animals per year.

I saw that froezn banana ice cream substitute before. Looked good. I just need to get my blender back and try it.

This is silly. If this were in effect there should also be a criminal and punitive effect on parents if they let their kids get obese

jape jape dude, in no way am I in my feelings just because I found humor in your question. Do you really think anyone would welcome vermin and pests in their home? And I'm far from insecure, thank you. Moving forward, I welcome discussion that feed curiosity. So I apologize for being a bit dismissive in regard to the question.

It seems like most people here are plant based because of the nutrional value, myself included. I don't see any "save the animal" type of people here that you imagine majority of vegans are.

If no one makes a thread by the time I'm back from vacation, I'll start it. I could give it more attention then. I have a great black bean burger plantain burger recipe and a walnut meatball recipe as well.

Top doctor reveals how meat and dairy products lead to chronic diseases responsible for early death - http://www.naturalnews.com/055037_plant-based_diet_animal_proteins_high_cholesterol.html
Heart disease, stroke, cancer and diabetes would account for the adult premature deaths of 75 percent of the children in my waiting room. The same was true of their families. And I knew that it was all basically preventable.

A plant-based diet is really very simplified calculations. The vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and legumes do it all for you. There's no need to count calories, grams of fat or protein, or worry about vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, or phytochemicals.

Start it up when you get a chance i got a ton of recipes to share.

I've been on a mostly plant based diet for almost a full year and its been pretty easy. This may be because I'm not a huge foodie, and I mostly eat to survive and not so much out of leisure. I've always been conscious of making healthier food choices but something hit me last year. I was already contemplating going vegetarian after binging on organics burgers in La Jolla. For some reason, during the middle of some juicy wings, I completely bugged out. I was tripping off the feather bumps/ pores and it hit me : why the hell am I eating a dead body? After that I couldn't eat meat anymore. That on top of a couple articles I read about the meat industry polluting and using up the natural resources from farming so much meat annually.

jape jape Yes it talks about saturated fats, the typical American diet, but the part you should be concerned with is cholesterol. All animal meats have cholesterol. Not sure if you really think ONLY SOME red meats have saturated fat.

People consume way to much protein then they even need. You never hear about anyone, vegans included, with a protein deficiency.

I like the idea of a vegan diet but I don't think I would ever do it. I like my meat too much but I'm mostly on top of what I eat. I don't think there's nothing wrong with consuming meat but if you want to be mindful of it know dem proper servings and fill da rest with fruits and vegetables

Need to try jackfruit I never had it before but seeing what you can do with it got me wanting to try :pimp:

so it talks about food thats high in saturated fat which some red meat has...

chicken fish turkey on the regular with some red meat isn't bad.
of course if you eat steak everyday lmao

biased article that only looks at extreme protein consumption.

Yea, but conventional chickens are also fed Prozac, other antibiotics, gmo corn that's been sprayed with pesticides, and dunked in chlorine. You're ingesting all of that. I don't think all meat is bad, but the amount of good meat you can actually find is probably outnumbered 100 to 1. If your meat is coming from a nice little farm where the animals can eat what they would normally eat like grass or peck for bugs and roam around, by all means do your thing, plehboi. That isn't easy to find though.

I also believe that there are cleaner ways to eat meat. It's just that the meat and diary industry is so sus.

Anyone interested more in protein and its significant correlation to disease, check out this book called "The China Study". It's stated as the most comprehensive research on nutrition.

Forgot where I saw it from, it maybe was on vice tv, but they were injecting shrimp with some type of gel substance to make them plumper. **** is disgusting to what they to do meat for appearance.

If you have any other thoughts/questions, I can fill you in more when I have the time:

T. Colin Cambell, PhD, with the help of Cornell University, Oxford University and Chinese Academy of Nutrition studied about 65 countries in and its nutrition, which were predominantly plant based and also fewer incidents of disease.

It mentions how America spends the most on health care, yet still suffer from heart disease and cancer. The ongoing, decades long, research find that there is a significant link between PROTIEN and CANCER GROWTH. These are diseases of affluence. Other places that are quite similar are England and Australia/New Zealand.

Doctor Campbell also treated patients and even helped reverse diseases through plant based nutrition.

It even mentions the meat and diary industry along with health care insurance providers hiring "scientists" to publish weak studies that support thier dietary claims. God forbid that their consumers and clients find out about the detriments of the common American diet.
