Just now catching up on the thread...

Football journalists and fans are very wishy washy. First three weeks of the season, it was "oh God, Man U are back." Jose was one of the best, Zlatan proved he belongs in the Prem, and Utd and City were going toe to toe for the title. 8 days after the Derby, Mou is overrated and a specialist in failure, Pogba is ****, and Utd will forever be **** with Fergie. The sensationalism I see in this thread as well as Reddit is astounding. It's only been five games in and people really want Mourinho out, because of two losses to two decent teams (in the league, Feyenoord is another story)

This is every sport. Take a look at how they're treating Aaron Rodgers right now in the NFL thread

I do honestly think it's worse with soccer/football. By far the most fickle.

This is the only sport I've seen where a manager will get fired halfway through the season after delivering a title. Players move like hired mercenaries.

The entire system of the sport kind of enables that kind of mentality tbh.

It also breeds cynicism and contempt. Bizarre given the well deserved mantra of it being the beautiful game.

Funny how the obvious lineup people have been begging Conte to play with for the last 2 weeks showed the results everyone expected.

Happy to see Lucas Perez open his Arsenal account.

I've got a bad feeling that the whole Wazza issue is gonna be Mou's new Casillas. I hope not but dude has been known to be one of the sources of locker room leaks when things aren't going well in the past and he still has a lot of friends in the media, wouldn't be suprised if he went out fighting in the press with Mou. Good thing for Mou is that public/fan opinion would be squarely on his side at this point so I don't think he'd be pressured into anything. I just hope that things wouldn't split up the locker room the way it did at Real.

Yea it's become a little like the NBA thread lately

‏@GNev2: Retweeted Telegraph Football: Leaks already after one bad week! Embarrassing!!

@GNev2: Gary Neville Retweeted @___Q__: Absolutely not . However I can sense a piece that's had info passed on and one that's speculative!

Agreed  :smh: :nerd:

There's been more stories out today

@the_manutd_blog: Mourinho believes he has taken on a bigger job than he initially thought at @ManUtd as he attempts to effectively “reprogram” players (1/2)

(2/2) indoctrinated over the past two years by Van Gaal’s risk-averse tactics. (Telegraph)

"indoctrinated" ,it's evident in the football and the tentativeness to press.

In La Liga news,Valencia sacked their coach...their 5th manager in under a year  :x
