6 episodes deep. Great show. Music is on point. It gets choppy at times, however it's entertaining the whole way through.

That's dope. I've been checking out graffiti there for almost 20 years. Back in the day, before it was renovated, you could sneak in there through a hole in the fence. Looks like the school got some grant money over the years. They put a track on there, fresh turf. It's gated now, you could only go on days that James TOP does his graffiti exhibitions. The last live showcase I attended was in 2012. I met Grandmaster Caz, DJ Eclipse (from Non-Phixion and Fat Beats), Lil' Rodney C (from Double Trouble), Vast Aire (from Cannibal Ox). Saw a bunch of graffiti artists do live pieces, including TONY 164, NIC 707 and DJ JS-1 who writes JERMS (Rocksteady Crew).

I hate that I didn't take advantage of this stuff.

I was there back when it was a ****hole. We used to go in for night ball once in a while. When I saw the renovations and how much they had changed the park it hurt, man. Back when it was just a huge open lot it was perfect for two hand touch.

Just took it for granted seeing it everyday. It's really not what it used to see, but I appreciate that they've maintained the graffiti.

This is part of what won me over. It's not really common knowledge, but Kung Fu was HUGE in hip hop back then. Proved to me that they actually did their due diligence and were doing it right.

yea moms was telling me bruce lee was HUGE in the hood.and of course black belt jones , jim kelly ...im glad this show seems to be incorporating a lot of the culture without overdoing it so much.good show overall

In the time allotted you can only cover so much without covering so much that you can't expand on all story lines.

For it to only be 6 episodes@47 or so minutes, I think what was done was done well enough.

Considering they changed show runners at some point early on in production and ended up doing so well with the material is a feat in itself

I meant I didn't take advantage of going to school at the Graffiti Hall Of Fame every damn day. Shame on me.:smh:

They did a great job using it on the show, though. The speech he give dropping the names was :pimp:
 
Yasss Lawd when shawty started stripping in the church. I would have put a stack in the offering plate.

Chocolate shawty got an amazing body though and I'm a big fan of the sistahs that rock their hair naturally.

Why was that, you ask? Take a ******* guess.

And yeah, why is that? Is what politicians should be asking.

But who's got time for questions when you all skiing up on Aspen.

Broads get gunshots to the head and all y'all getting swerving lessons up in Aspen.

My mama was so lovely she would've made your head spin.

Level the playing field and y'all would see who would really win.

And yeah I got anger. But I don't let it take me down.

Because my mama taught me better and she holds me up when I fall down.

Rest in peace, moms. Don't worry about your son.

Someday I'll make you proud because, yeah, I am the one.

Shaolin is probably my favorite character followed by the Uncle. Uncle gets **** done and wants to give back to community. Crazy how corrupt government was back then (and is now).

Shaolin got heart. He's a warrior. Type of ***** to do anything to make ends meet. I hate the ***** *** son of the Queen Druglord though.

Zeke's uncle who's always walking around the house in boxers and a robe drinking a Colt .45 has to be my favorite character. Dude reminds me so much of my pops...just a lot meaner.

As an older Hip Hop head, this show is definitely appreciated. Netflix continue to create good shows and I can't wait until Part 2 drops.
 
Watched the first episode yesterday and love it. The disco-dance off was :smokin. The whole club scene was lit especially when Malibu arrived.

Overall, love the concept and creativity of it all.

EDIT: Mylene and her two friends wood get it.

Lawd Mylene is so bad.

I mean you see chicks like her in NY all the time though. Probably not AS bad as her but pretty typical.
