My fiancee was sexually assaulted.

People wouldn't call it a rape culture if they weren't tired of seeing the same stuff happen over and over. From victim blaming, to shaming, to institutions not protecting women, to the justice system not punishing them fully.

I had a girl I used to talk to tell me her story and it made me realize, some women blame themselves so they don't tell outta embarrassment. Long story short she was 16 talking to a early 20s dude. They were chilling in the whip, get to making out and touching in the backseat but she was used to doing that with dudes her age and being cool. He basically ripped her pants off and raped her. She said stop, fought but eventually gave up because he out powered her hoping it was just over. Dude went raw and finished inside of her then had the nerve to apologize and say he didn't know what got into him he must like her that much. She had to ask this lady in our neighborhood to buy a morning after pill lying saying she had a bf and they slipped up. She was scared to tell because she knew she shouldn't have been out with a dude that old and was afraid her parents would blame her. **** blew my mind. Of course their are other reasons too tho.

Especially how you went to multiple hospitals and were redirected/turned away multiple times

The dude in the nice suit, white teeth, bmw, and especially an apartment with no furniture except for a bed. Makes it seem like he does it all the time, and I can only imagine girls that don't report it. Guy sounds like a straight up monster

Crazy. Sorry that happened to your girl OP.

I always tell my sis to never leave her drink unattended.

You know how many females are sexually assaulted annually on college campuses?

"Forced kissing" and "attempted forced kissing" qualifies as sexual assault so i cant take those bs surveys serious.

A vast minority of the u.s. population are rapists. And the ones that rape aren't glorified, they go to jail.
A rape culture would be the opposite.

1. again semantics, don't get cuaght up

2. dude you brush of forced kissing....

I'm guessing you a dude lemme ask ....if a woman tried to kiss you and you didn't want it, what would you do?

|I  i would go to jail if that happened to my lady...no question.

A lot of people say this...I've thought that before the incident with my chick...i have come to face the devastating reality that I probably will never see this guy...

Which is illegal btw...

I think the writer didn't explain that part that well...she never left the drink unattended...she and her friend finished the drink before they hit the dance floor...me and my chick ran this by the author and although we can't prove anything we've come to the conclusion ( because the writer has heard this claim multiple times by other victims) is that the bartender might very been involved in the drugging...

I hate this idea that people are on sides. I'm not on any side.

I'm a guy on the street calling it like I see it.

again another article hand wringing over semantics.

I get it, your experience shapes your outlook. Same can be said for me I've been around majority women all my life. From my experience if something were to happen, they would say something. I've never been around women that on a day to day basis fear getting raped. I were to imagine if it was prelevant as some believe it is. There would be a hysteria with at least some of the chicks I know. Once again it could be different for you.

This is an upsetting subject to read about. It bothers me that people are this evil. NT throws the term "scum" around a lot. Dudes like this are scum. I also wish Darren Sharper should have gotten more time for what he did

It isn't an issue of semantics when what you're saying is intellectually dishonest.

As for forced kissing, I'd do what I've done time and time again; walk away and pretend like the sewer rat didn't exist. You never had a girl try to suck your face in the club and you had to hit her with the Jamie King?

Ah, thanks for providing anicodotal evidence. This doesn't prove we live in a rape culture.

boggles my mind how a guy can get off on a passed out person. i want a participating partner. some people should not be living

Same. I took a chick home in college and we're kissing and **** and then she passes out and that was the end of my night.
She texted me a couple weeks later asking if we had done anything and I was like **** no. I'm not that kind of dude.
Rape is probably one of my biggest fears for my sis and mom. That's why I bought them both glocks.
