**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Let's just say for argument sake, Dlo isn't a shooter.

He's obviously the best shooter on the team if they don't resign Nick Young right? Or do you have someone else in mind that's better? Did I miss that?

So please explain to me why we should get rid of the best shooter on our team. Im sure you guys watch a lot of basketball, the league is all about 3 point shooting and buckets in transition.

This team is devoid of talent and needs all the help it can get. WHY WOULD WE GET RID OF OUR BEST SHOOTER WHEN WE DONT HAVE TO?!?!

"But he's not a shooter... we need to trade him" Do you even hear how ridiculous you sound?

Is Devin Booker a good shooter? Jamal Murray?

They all project to be good shooters.

:smh:

All average shooters, I've seen multiple articles and people say D'Lo is a GREAT shooter right now. If he's a great shooter so is Westbrook. 35% is ok, but unlike Booker D'Lo's ability to score well is almost entirely predicated on his ability to hit the 3.

Is Paul George not a better shooter than D'Lo?

Because he broke up their personal relationship... oh wait....

Because he broke up their personal marriage.... oh wait...

Because he broke up a dumb *** celebrity relationship that wasn't gonna last anyway :rolleyes

Ok we can do this too.

Westbrook
Age 21: 22.1% with 1.3 attempts a game
Age 22: 33.0% with 1.3 attempts a game
Age 23: 31.6% with 3 attempts a game

George
Age 20: 29.7% with 2.3 attempts a game
Age 21: 38.5% with 3.5 attempts
Age 22: 36.2% with 5.9 attempts

Dlo
Age 19: 35.1% with 4.6 attempts a game
Age 20: 35.2% with 6.1 (!) attempts a game

I asked a simple question is Paul George a better shooter than D'Lo or not?

Is Paul George not a better shooter than D'Lo? 41,37,39 from 3 the last 3 seasons that is great.
Around 40% on high volume is a great shooter.

No one compared Dlo to PG, we're saying we want BOTH on the floor together.

My point is those young guys project to be good to great shooters. If you're gonna be up in arms about Dlo dont cape for Book.

D'Lo ain't going to be on the floor with PG. And that was my point y'all whining about losing our best shooter but you're replacing him with a guy who's even better. And is elite at other things as well.

Book is a better scorer than D'Lo. That's fax.

I don't get it bruh, I really don't.

look at the volume of shots Dlo is taking at his young age compared to George and Westbrook. Do you see how much they improved now that they're 25+? What do you think Dlo will project to shoot by then?

Once again, I come back to this: why, on a team devoid of talent, would you trade your best shooter to acquire a player who's going to come for free anyway? I want to pair Lonzo with as much shooting as possible. That means both Dlo and PG. that also means we need Ingram to be able to shoot as well as Dlo can now.

I actually get what you're saying. You can't play Ball Dlo Ingram and PG at the same time all game but you can certainly close games with that especially in a yr or 2.

Hypothetical question for you...if we had Book instead of Dlo would you still trade for PG? How would you make the lineups work?

Exactly.

Let BI bulk up and improve his shooting. A closing lineup of Lonzo Dlo BI PG and Randle is absolutely deadly.

it's pretty simple to me

you draft a PG with "elite vision" and anoint him the "franchise PG" and "PG of the future" and "best Lakers PG since Magic" ......at least that's how they sold it, not Dlo's fault

then 2 summers later you draft his replacement and try to move the first kid to shooting guard because he can get streaky and hit some spot up 3's

If that's not a red flag to ya'll, I don't know what to tell you. Dlo at shooting guard will never be better than CJ McCollum and CJ may not crack the all star team with Klay and Harden in the West.
So you basically wasted a #2 pick on an average shooting guard......

so why not trade him while he still has "upside" and some value after a decent second half last season?

Who's fault is it that you're listening to those terrible expectations? People were comparing Ingram to KD and PG, now we're trying to get PG. Should we get rid of him too?CJ was 22 his 1st season dlo still 21. You Would've been ready to trade him too lolY'all gotta let the hate go man.

Ball
DLo
Ingram
PG (Nance in 2017-18)
Zubac

:pimp:

So much fun. So much open court greatness.

You better put Randle in that lineup for 2017-2018!

That's more of my run and fun still semi traditional lineup with Zu still anchoring/screening but Nance in the open floor with the other 3 just...... :smh:

I know small ball could use Randle and Nance. But we'd be lite at the rim. Etc etc

Why so much hate on DLO still?

I can only speak for myself, I just don't like his skill set and I'd rather trade him while he has value and still young. Stats mean nothing to me, it's about skills. Shareef Abdur Rahim got stats, Jamaal Magloire was an all star......there are many examples like that.......means nothing.

I think having a slow, unathletic point guard who can't shoot off the dribble and has "old man game" at age 19-20 won't fly in this modern-day style of basketball. Think about it, is Dlo the type of player who you give the ball to with 10 seconds left and you need a bucket? Can he take two hard dribbles and elevate over a defender for a game winner? PG can, Jimmy B can, Kyrie can, and many other "elite" players. They've had that ability from early on.

Plus, I think if we draft ball, D'lo will absolutely be moved.

I don't think that's hate.

Why would you trade the best shooter on the team when you're drafting a PG that works great with shooters? It really makes zero sense to trade a 21 year old that's avg 15 pts.
