Aren't the Cubans the one who made up the bulk of Hispanics who voted for Trump?

Non Hispanics toss around the term like all spanish speakers look at each other like fam, when in reality none of em rock with the Mexican brehs and many of them align themselves more to Spain thus they view themselves in the same light as European white people do.
 
Castro understood how white privilege works and initially it always comes under the guise of the cross. Castro did not allow this, and props to him for that as well. I am all for white based religions to be destroyed because none are about a higher power based upon evolution, white religions are based upon oppression and guilt. Castro knew this and it was not until recently that the catholic church had an in there. Anywhere there is the catholic church, white privilege follows soon after. Name any country where the catholic church is prominent, white people rule. You worship a white jesus, white angels and white saints, spiritually nothing of color stands a chance. So here you have white cubans complaining about Castro, how he kept them as poor as the black people. Yeah, so what? Deal with it.
 
The amount of credit, and fawning liberal coverage Castro got for the Cuban health care system has always struck as pretty silly.




If you are dictator who relies on the labour of the people to generate income for yourself and your cronies you have a vested interest in keeping the people healthy and working.


Cuba primarily exports sugar right?


That's a labour intensive product, if Cuba had OIL bet Castro wouldn't given a rats *** about Cuban healthcare. :lol:

miami politicians,lawyers,doctors, real estate agents,bankers, business owners etc are mostly cubans. We own the whole bottom half of florida...and not by scamming the government.

More are coming. Cuba has the hemisphere's oldest population. The average age is 47, and nearly 24% of the population is above age 55, according to CIA data.

The Sun-Sentinel reported arrivals of Cubans over age 60 have risen fivefold since 2010, based on data from Florida's Department of Children and Families. So long as Cuba's economy  continues to fail, as socialism always does, and the U.S. welfare spigots remain turned on, the trickle may become a Europe-style flood.

It's become a convenient pressure valve for the Castro regime to rid itself of its old people, with all their costs of aging, while holding on to power.

The cost to U.S. taxpayers for this retirement plan for Castro's castoffs is likely billions. The Sun-Sentinel found welfare alone for all Cuban refugees is about $685 million, and Cubans are the No. 1 recipients.

I don't really blame Castro for the the economic despair Cuba faced under his rule. America was a large part in making sure it suffered.

He still could have tried to transition Cuba into a socially democratic state instead of a struggling communist one.


He put maintaining power over economic decision that would have helped his people.


Of course the embargo and fall of the Soviet Union hurt, but they are not the sole reason for the state Cuba is in.

Yeah man I agree. I admire some of his views and actions. I love his staunch opposition to imperialism. I admire how he made cuba a major player on the world stage.

As someone who is an outsider from the Cuban realm, I don't see how Fidel should be mourned. His dictatorship resembled of what we see in North Korea currently, with less of the "cult of personality". I can see why the Cubans in Florida are celebrating his death :lol:
 
It amazes me how people celebrate this man. I'm just going to presume all those who view him as a hero also view Hitler, Stalin,hussein and every other tyrant that's lived in the same light.... Most Cuban people don't like castro they just can't speak against him because you'll be thrown in jail where you will most likely be killed or tortured in some way. The reason he partnered with so many African countries was to spread the propaganda of communism. They still do it to this day by sending doctors and aid to other countries. Meanwhile the Cuban people have no access to basic things like medicine or antibiotics. I had a cousin die at birth because they couldn't give her what she needed.

By the way everything is shut down on the island for mourning for the next 9 days. Pretty much the samething that happened in North Korea

No, Cuba was a slave port as well. I have no empathy for white people suffering in areas that African slaves built. Usually, they weren't supposed to be where they are suffering in the first place, as they are also probably the descendants of the oppressors, falling upon hard times. If Castro hastened their plight, so be it. Castro could not get rid of social racism, as that was ingrained into that society. You can't stop white people from thinking that they are better than everyone else due to the color of their skin, not when they are able to point to the rest of the western world, then being able to point to the white patriarchal privilege that exists there. But Castro was well intentioned in his beginning efforts. He still helped Africa, and other things. White America loves to demonize anyone who is not white and european, so as Malcolm X once said, "any time a white man tells you that you are doing something wrong, more than likely you are doing something right."

Yeah luckily Cubans had America close by to escape to. Where as its much harder for North Koreans to escape to China.

And let that sink in N. Koreans see China as making it to freedom. Getting to South Korea is out of the question.

There is a clear divisiveness on what we are taught in the United States and how people around the world view Castro.


I dont agree with his Socialist policies, but Castro led a successful revolution against a U.S. propped up Dictator. The U.S. hated Castro not because he was a "Marxist-Socialist", but they hated him because he threw out their monopoly (United Fruit, or Chiquita Banana). He resisted against U.S. imperialism/colonialism.

We can criticize Castro for his tactics for jailing, censoring, and killing dissidents, but the U.S. does the same thing. Hell this country kills citizens with drones, btu Castro is an "animal"?


I only wish Puerto Ricans had a leader like Castro to resist U.S. occupation.
