Main reason why Ether trumps Takeover is because Ether was solely dedicated to Jay. Takeover was one verse. The fact that Takeover is the one being compared to Ether instead of Super Ugly shows how mean that one verse was.

I don't think yall understood the magnitude of Nas airing out that Jay took the fall for the "Un" Rivera stabbing. That was a big incident toward Jay's street cred but a lot of people close to the situation said it was fabricated on Jay's part and he took the charge cause he knew he'd beat the case. The fact that Nas made it publicly known that Jay's "street cred" has holes in it gave birth to side eying the 92 bricks story. Ether changed hip hop.
