RUMOR: Possible Black University Red Air Jordan 6 Holiday 2017

Sneakerfiles dropped some news and hints on twitter about two Jordan 6 releasing Holiday 2017. One is the Gatorade 6 that was pictured in the old SC photo with Mark whalberg meeting with JB designers at HQ. He says the second pair may be a Black University Red Air Jordan 6. This may be the OG Black Infrared returning with a Nike Air.

Notice how in the second photo, the angle of the infrared has changed to hide the back and side of the shoe

Nothing is set yet;however, it does seem as though retros pictured in the photo with Mark whalberg will be dropping. Im interested to see what happens. I'm also sure JB would love to squeeze $220 out of everyone this year with a NA remaster. While the 2010 varsity red 6 was not the original color on the 1991 shoe, the Varsity red has gained a cult following and I'm sure the masses would not mind an OG remastered infrared 6 with varsity red

A varsity red 6 with NA on the back wouldnt be much different than the 2010 version being its a blacked out logo. The biggest difference will be the price.:lol:
 
I'm one of the few that actually love the 2014 retro. But it's so funny how everyone hated the Varsity Reds back in 2010, then JB proceeds to drop he infrared pack a few months later and now the Varsity reds resell for much higher than any of the recent Infrared retros lol

You do realize those "samples" (last three photos) are the 2010 6s.

And correct Durabuck/Nubuck.. if they do all of the above and give us 2010 suede or ashy larry 2012 IV's suede.. #PASS.
 
Funny how we've been talking about the "Gatorade Pack" for nearly 10 years now :lol: the actual pack never cemented - but it was confirmed by a few reputable sources.

I guess that pack eventually translated into the 'Infrared Pack' which we got in 2010. Either way, I would love to see an actual Black/Infrared 6 with durabuck and Nike Air. I do own both the infrared and varsity red 6 from 2010 - which I grew to appreciate over the years - but my most coveted 6 was the 2000 pairs, which I've own multiple pairs of, only to crumble on me with only a few wears.

With that being said, I'm ready for actual OG Infrared 6 to make a return. We'll see how this plays out...:smokin

Would you mind if they were OG everything but where University red instead of infrared?
 
I honestly wouldn't mind that change.

There's been so many different shades of 'infrared' color, and none of them have matched the actual 1991 OG color.

The darker red has been appreciated more since the release because it's actually aesthetically better looking than the 2012 Infrared release.

I'm more interested in the durabuck and Nike Air features.

My only issue is that infrareds just dropped and I still have a DS pair.

I love black and red 6s tho so I'm sure I could get over that quick.
