R.I.P. Prodigy from Mobb Deep

RIP.

Getting old sucks, slowly but surely, everything and everyone you grew up on dies.

For people that have seen Mobb Deep in NYC, do they perform any of the songs from Hell On Earth there? I know the The Infamous album gets tons of recognition but Hell On Earth is sort of a personal fav and it sucks how they never perform any of that stuff seeing how it's such a sleeper album. None of the songs from that album hit the radio over here. Not sure if that is the case for NYC or other cities.

I saw them at irving plaza, then in qb, then bb kings

Only hell on earth joints they did was God part 3. And that was only 2 of the shows. Most of their joints was from infamous and murda muzik

Hell on earth comes across as a bit too underground (Im not complaining) but idk why they don't do more from there. I'd love to hear still shinin or give it up fast live

also wanna add that no one sleeps on Hell on Earth, they both sold da same & MTV played mobb deep instruments for like 10 years during random MTV news segments, MTV cribs, etc.

I mean it could be my inner circle or what I see only in the Bay Area but this album is super slept on and the songs on their aren't nearly as famous as singles from The Infamous album. That era is hard to judge on music cause so many people were buying CDs just to buy them. Tons of stuff was going gold and more than a handful was going platinum. I mean Lord Tariq and Peter Gunz only album went platinum and that thing was garbage.

And God Part 3 imo is such a terrible song. I hated that Scarface sample and it just didn't have that NYC gritty beat that all the other songs had. But regardless, that album gets super slept on.

Hell on Earth isn't slept on. It just isn't the most universally famous Mobb album. Most people automatically think of The Infamous album or Murda Muzik (due to Quiet Storm). But when it released, Hell on Earth was everywhere.

And GOD Pt. 3 is [emoji]128293[/emoji][emoji]128293[/emoji][emoji]128293[/emoji]

Havoc of Mobb Deep Was With His Kid When He Heard of Prodigy's Death
Hav was coming from his son’s kindergarten graduation when he heard the news.

Havoc, one-half of “the infamous” Mobb Deep duo has publicly spoken for the first time on his partner Prodigy‘s tragic passing over the week.

The artist spoke to TMZ about hearing of his partner’s hospitalization, a frequent occurrence due to his well-documented battle with sickle cell anemia. When Havoc heard rumors of Prodigy’s death, he shrugged them off, he even joked about it, given that claims of such circumstance have been frequent for the duo for years now. However, he made a call to their road manager to check up on his parent’s status. The manager picked up the phone in tears, which made Havoc immediately hang up the phone. During the call he was in the car with his 5-year-old child, coming from his kindergarten graduation. “I could’ve crashed with my kids in the car” Hav stated. He’s gone on to say he can barely look at pictures of the two, and definitely can’t listen to any of their music. “I’m still ****** up. I can’t listen.”

I love the dark beats of hell on earth but also the chillness of infamous. Murda muzik feels like a mix of the 2. But i still got hell on earth as my favorite

P verse on apostles warning is his best verse imo

i guess you can also attribute it to regionalism, in 1996 im pretty sure ya west coast cats were busy digesting All Eyez On Me, as good as Tupac crossed over Nationwide, NYC supported Hell On Earth heavvvvy, those dark gritty chilling harrowing beats were EVERYWHERE...

this is why people say Reasonable doubt got slept on early on, cuz it had to compete with all da aforementioned, PLUS it was written, Ghostface Killah Ironman AND Fugees Da Score, AND Selena got murdered so her ish was being played WALL to WALL.

Not at all; I along with all of my associates were listening to Hell On Earth when it dropped. If you're a true head it never mattered where an artist resided.
