2013 College Football Thread (Realer than Real Deal Holyfield -->S/O Craftsy)

Anybody have any insight into why the TAMU @ Arkansas line is only 3 points in TAMU's favor? I know our defense is bad, but that seems way too close.

For what it's worth, quite a few books have taken it off the board, and apparently a few have it at -13, which is much more realistic.

The line was never -3 at any casinos or online sites that actually take bets. GBH posted an article on it.

Got it, Jewbacca. I only loosely watch the lines and keep up with betting stuff. Never actually put money on any games.

Dre, you gotta relax:

Florida State University
Jesus! Stop Selling Jameis Winston Tees
They're Blasphemous

Shades of Tim Tebow on the campus of Florida State -- where someone is making major coin off t-shirts depicting FSU QB Jameis Winston as Jesus Christ, and the university is trying to shut it down ... TMZ has learned.

If you hadn't heard ... Winston's become a Heisman frontrunner, scoring 6 TDs in just 2 games (that's a lot) -- and an enterprising FSU fan decided to cash in.

The fan, who wants to remain anonymous, tells us he sold 100 of his "Chosen One" shirts for $20 a pop last weekend. $2,000 ain't too shabby for a few hours work.

But a high-ranking source inside FSU's Athletic Department tells us they've fired off a cease and desist letter to the fan ... out of concern sale of the shirts could get Winston and FSU in trouble.

We're told the NCAA could punish FSU if it feels the school isn't doing enough to prevent someone from profiting off a player's image -- a right which is reserved for NCAA universities.

The other issue, according to our source, is a lot of people on the Tallahassee campus just think the shirts are sacrilegious.

For his part, the fan says he'll be hawking the tees again during today's home game.

By the way, Winston's connected on 40 of 45 passes this year -- an astounding 88.9% completion rate! Pretty damn heavenly, if you're a Seminoles fan.

Hey man, I have to make $ somehow. These prepaid credit cards that I'm mailing to FSU recruits aren't going to fill themselves. I'm just doing my part.

:smokin

Lol. Who could turn down Wing Stop and King of Diamonds.

Webb claimed traveling and long distance. It's possible that theory of her using AJ for exposure is true.

She was a "recruiter". She was going after Johnny while he was still in HS. It is a dirty game.

So, where we at now?

Miami gets exposed, we've had Oregon, Penn St, Manziel, the NCAA itself, who else?

All these joints got busted, investigated, and finished while we still sit and twist. Penn St freakin gettin stuff back already and we still waitin.

Homie gonna get outta prison, we still waitin. He gonna be payin new recruits, still waitin. Come on man, hurry the hell up. ****.

as much as I hate Miami, them taken so long means to me they have nothing and keep looking for something. Miami gets off light like Oregon at the end of the day

I agree, I think they have no choice but to accept our own self sanctions and get on with it, but why it's taking so damn long is really messed up on the NCAA's part. Which hunting us, being exposed themselves for using Shapiro's own lawyer, etc, but still making us wait while everyone tries to negative recruit us, just get on with it already NCAA.

They gonna go investigate Foster's claims, check out Tennessee, punish them, they'll serve their sanctions, and we'll still be waiting.

NCAA went for a haymaker and missed. They could have hit Miami w/ penalties, harder than what um self imposed but not a death blow, and been done with it. Seems they wanted to go all out and in he process they shot themselves in the foot. Now, who really knows whats gonna happen. Shalalalalalala gonna lawyer up and sue the NCAA if they try to hit them w/ anything extremely harsh, me thinks.
