2013 NFL Draft thread - ( Early Entrees, Mocks, Combine etc )

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported Thursday night that the Minnesota Vikings are looking to trade up in the first round. They have the ammunition with the No. 23 and No. 25 picks. Mr. RapSheet believes the Vikings would be targeting a wide receiver, likely Tavon Austin or Cordarrelle Patterson.

The San Diego Chargers could be a potential trade fit; they want to move down from the No. 11 slot if they can't get the tackle they want. (That could be difficult.)

If the Vikings were to trade up, Rapoport believes they would attempt to do so while likely still holding on to their No. 25 overall pick.

Trade with us!!

April 8: "Makes sense the Pats worked out Boise State CB Jamar Taylor. They've been all over him through the process." - Jeff Howe, Boston Herald

Miami Dolphins:
April 21:
Chris Mortensen on the Dolphins moving up for a tackle: "For Joeckel or Fisher but no trade up for [Lane] Johnson."

Carolina Panthers:
April 18:
"General manager David Gettleman is a firm believer in taking the best player available. The Panthers have the No. 14 pick and it doesn't sound like they trade up." - Steve Reed, Associated Press in Charlotte

Pittsburgh Steelers:
April 15:
Peter King wrote that he agrees with the connection between the Steelers and Jarvis Jones.

Dallas Cowboys:
April 21:
Cowboys' writer Bryan Broaddus tweeted that he believes the Dallas front office likes Eric Reid over Johnathan Cyprien.

Minnesota Vikings:
April 21:
"So even though the Vikings have legitimate concerns at middle linebacker, wide receiver and the defensive line, and two first-round picks with which to address them, don't be surprised if they take a cornerback near the top of the draft." - Ben Goessling, Pioneer Press.

Houston Texans:
April 16:
"I'm not a fan of Menelik Watson's. I think he's pure projection player at this point who needs tons of work. However, he's going inside 27." - Lance Zeirlein, Houston Chronicle

Atlanta Falcons:
April 17:
"Hearing the Falcons are trying to trade up from number 30 in the first round" - Peter King

San Francisco 49ers:
April 21:
"It's believed by at least one GM that the Niners are interested in moving up to the 13th or 14th overall pick. ... The talk around the league is that the 49ers would like to get a defensive lineman who can eventually step in for veteran Justin Smith." - Jason Cole, Yahoo!

Baltimore Ravens:
April 19:
The NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah, who used to work with Ozzie Newsome in Baltimore, mocked Matt Elam to the Ravens on Friday's show. Jeremiah stated that Newsome wants "sure things" and "8-to-10-year starters" at big schools in the first round. Jeremiah noted Keenan Allen as a possibility a month ago.

Houston Texans:
April 16:
"I'm not a fan of Menelik Watson's. I think he's pure projection player at this point who needs tons of work. However, he's going inside 27." - Lance Zeirlein, Houston Chronicle

God Damn it. Seeing Tavon at 12 knowing we won't take him makes me want to kick something. :smh:

Tank won't make it to rd 2. Seen him going 15 to the Saints, he's in high demand, even with injury. Same for Hayden.

Why would you want Miami to take a receiver? You guys have lots of holes and just spend a bunch on Wallace and Hartline

I always thought Shariff Floyd looked kinda suspect but never heard him talk. Yep, his interviews on ESPN today confirmed it. Not that there's anything wrong with that....

special teams , depth , also he can line up from the slot and halback

You need a CB desperately and O-Line help. Taking Austin would be a Jerry Jones esque move

We have 2 2's, 2 3's, 2 5's and 3 7's. Plus our 4.

6 of the first 108 picks.

I can get a true impact game breaking speed kills slot guy next to Wallace and Hartline and with my next 5 picks go OT, CB, DE, S, OG.

And then have 5 more late round picks to try and double up those spots.

I look like Jerry Jones to you?
