Comparing Kobe and Duncan is ridiculous. TD's been at All Star level these last couple years. Kobe's been arguably the worst player in the league since going down with the Achilles injury. Just not even comparable regardless of roster or coaching situations.

Put Duncan on those Lakers teams over the past 3 years. His decline would be evident.

Put Kobe on the Spurs teams the past 3 years. Guaranteed he would shoot them out of the playoffs

Guy doesn't even contribute anything to defense anymore

Dudes comparing Duncan to Kobe like the teams and coaching is equal. Spurs have many guys who can take the pressure off Tim late in his career.
From 2000-2010, there were only 4 years where you wouldn't hear Kobe's name past May [emoji]128526[/emoji][emoji]128526[/emoji]

From 1995-2006, there were only 5 years where you wouldnt hear Shaqs name past May.

Since 2007 there were only 3 years Lebron wasn't the NBA Finals.

Lol put Kobe in that Spurs team and most likely they'd just implode. The system works because TD is willing to play within the system. Kobe will just start taking shots from Manu and Parker. Those two would probably be the first to leave. And the free agents would stay away.

Pau and Kobe are probably as close to friends as Kobe ever had on the Lakers. Even Pau left, b. Think about that.

I still wanna know what really happened to that Pacers team. The way they fell off made no sense. Though they were still going to lose to Miami, regardless :pimp:.

With or without the Achilles injury?
Both fam.
Let's assume Kobe was healthy: Spurs would make playoffs, but wouldn't make it to the Finals because he sucks at defense.
Post-Achilles injury Kobe: Spurs would be 8th seed or worse.

Tell me, who's better for the team defense, Duncan or Kobe? Kobe fans always neglect how detrimental he is to the team defense the past couple years. Guy wastes all his effort on offense. The only good defense we saw him play was against LeBum at ASG

Kobe has to guard on the perimeter. Duncan is playing in a league devoid of legit bigs. I don't see how anyone could compare Kobe and Duncan like its apples to apples.

Duncan has feasted on the weakest era of bigs in NBA history. Surrounded by stability. Who are the bigs besides Shaq he's faced that are great? Yao, Ben Wallace?

It's crazy. Lance and Hibbert were basically All Stars in Indy. Both of them are 100% trash now. No injuries or age related decline for either of them.

roy turned into the world's tallest garbage bin
lance went back to the ****oo's nest
PG having baby mama drama
david west fed up with these kids
frank vogel lost all control
cant even blame bird/walsh, they assembled a squad that matched up well. did i think they were gonna beat the heat? no, but they gave up that series

timmy was the ultimate teammate. was willing to sacrifice and did whatever was needed for the team. was always supportive of every player on that roster from stars to bench guys.

Wait so you do admit that Kobe has been washed on defense

Yeah the big man game has been "weak", but he still has to compete, and he has done well against BG, Randolph, Nowitzki, Aldridge, Gasol brothers.
KG is the same age as Duncan and has been worse than Duncan the past couple years facing the same competition.
