2017 NBA Playoffs Thread - CLE @ BOS Game 5 on TNT

I recommend everyone go and check out at least 1 game.. but NBA is terrible in arena experience, same for football

Assuming you're actually going to watch the game.. if you're going for the experience, then it could be worth it

At home you don't have to deal with crowds, over priced food and drinks.. plus you can actually see everything going on.. HD tvs and affordability of big screen tvs have easily made watching certain sports far better to do at home

I say this as someone who got to watch that overtime game in the heat vs mavericks finals from the 6th row.. pretty sure it was game 5.. we had better seats than bill Russell, who was wearing his 1 blue shirt

Same. Really just depends on the seats though cause after a kush bleezy and a couple drinks I can get lost in the sauce pending the game viewing angle.

It also depends on the arena.  Personally I love Barclays because I live in walking distance and its a super chill experience.  You basically just stroll into the stadium.  And MSG also has an old-school event feel because of its history.

I've been to games in Philly and Washington and the environment was very uninspired.

I thought Minnesota Timberwolves Target Center was worse than some high school gyms here in Indiana. They only had two TV's that showed replayed. Their ******* introduction music was a high school band 

I thought to myself "No **** this team always trash who the **** would want to play here"

Bucks arena was super trash. I honestly thought Oracle arena was trash too

I enjoy basketball and baseball games. I think I'd go back to a hockey game, if I understood the game more.

Also stadium dependent though.  Been to CenturyLink once and it was awesome.  Been to Metlife a few times, and it's definitely a snoozefest if your team isn't playing.  

The worst part of all stadiums is when they're not in city centers though.  Being actually in the city makes the experience so much better because transit can be a nightmare.  Going to the meadowlands

Feel like this title was all about NYC's love of the game of basketball, not necessarily the skill of the professional/college teams.  That hasn't changed.  If I left work and walked to the park I would see pickup games going on already.

College football and baseball are probably only sports I enjoy more at the games

But I really don't care about either.. if I don't really care, then it's cool.. Some things I just want to knock of the bucket list more than anything

But like I said it's about the whole experience.. go tailgating, get hype with the crowd, drink some beers and eat overpriced food

Went to the Falcons final game in the Dome, was my first game in years, was the most incredible sports experience ever. No question. Obviously woulda been different if the outcome was reversed but that environment was surreal nonetheless.

Only Hawks game(s) that rivaled it was when Philly Iverson used to come, and those home games against the '08 C's in the 1st round.

Rams in town now and still no desire to go. Might catch my Raiders vs Chargers this year but I know it's bout to be a mess out here :x

Nah, it was more than love of the game. There used to be serious talent coming out NYC. Street legends used to give pros game in summer leagues. The Garden is often referred to as the Mecca.

I know where the title comes from.  But NY talent has never really been better than the rest at the professional level.  Love of basketball is in the blood of NYC.  I feel that's more true at its core than the actual talent level of the streetball legends.  TBH a lot of those guys were built up by hype as a function of the popularity of bball here.

True. I mean, I went to Candlestick before the Niners moved to their new stadium and even that was a mediocre experience.
