I think everybody knows that Mr popo is racist. In fact a lot of anime is and it gets called out by western viewerswonder where DBZ fans stand on this teacher situation?.....
that has nothing to do with black face.Wonder how this thread wouldve looked if he dressed up as Jackie Chan and tried to look as "authentic" as he did with this costume.
Oh you can bet he was talking like a jig too. Let's not pretend there isn't a history here. I'm not at all outraged, but I think it's stupid they don't see that as being an issue.
The south and educators seem to be a common theme in this every year which is odd.
that has nothing to do with black face.
there is no history of white face or yellow face as a mockery and to insinuate or to deflect a lack of uproar from other members is idiotic and clearly race baiting
I believe he knew what he was doing.....especially in this day and age. For that, he gets what he deserves.
while it may be a separate issue there actually is a history of racist caricature in this country depicting asians in the most negative lightthat has nothing to do with black face.Wonder how this thread wouldve looked if he dressed up as Jackie Chan and tried to look as "authentic" as he did with this costume.

why cant we just shut up and not say anything at all?
lets let these white people have their fun
. Eddie Murphy has played a Caucasian man with zero backlash, how is a white man playing Kanye any different?
It's not the fact that he wasn't portraying the stereotypical "Black man" that is a problem, it's the fact that he used black face to do it. If he wanted to look like Kanye he could have just used the shades, blazer with the shirt, or dress up in the silly @## clothing he's been putting out lately, and call it a day.African Americans scream racism for everything, in this case it was more ignorance than racism. Eddie Murphy has played a Caucasian man with zero backlash, how is a white man playing Kanye any different? I would understand if it was just portraying a black man and they had gold fronts, braids and a gun but it's a celebrity who happens to be black.
Before anyone claims I'm white, I'm not and I'm not mixed either.
It's been known anime been racist. A select few actually depict black ppl as humans and for some odd reason their main characters tend to be ambiguous looking, straight up not Asian yet are clearly from Asiawonder where DBZ fans stand on this teacher situation?.....
You may not be mixed or white but you're definitely ignorant.African Americans scream racism for everything, in this case it was more ignorance than racism. Blackface is a form of theatrical makeup used by performers to represent a black person. The practice gained popularity during the 19th century and contributed to the proliferation of stereotypes such as the "happy-go-lucky darky on the plantation" or the "dandified ****".
i agree. theres an awesome filipino history exhibit in cali that people should check out and see the no blacks and no yellows and all the segregation type stuff that exists.
