It's official: Jimmy Kimmel will host the 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards on ABC.

After early reports that Kimmel was in talks to host, the news was officially announced early Monday morning. Kimmel himself also tweeted the news.

The 2016 show will mark Kimmel's second time hosting the Emmys, serving as emcee of the show in 2012, when it last aired on ABC. The four broadcast networks, which share rights to the telecast, typically rotate hosts when each one gets the awards show but also typically give their own network personalities the hosting duties. Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers are NBC's most recent hosts with Fox going with Andy Samberg last year and CBS selecting Neil Patrick Harris to host in 2009 and 2013.

In 2008, when ABC broadcast the Emmys, the network had reality hosts Tom Bergeron, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, Jeff Probst and Ryan Seacrest share hosting duties.

“I am excited to be hosting the Emmys again," the Jimmy Kimmel Live host said in a statement. "I have a feeling I’m going to be great."
