They look good, stitching, shape looks good.

beenbamboozled thanks, the thing I was worried about was the tongue being too short

It's because it's laced up, unlaced 1s tongue look taller. Personally when wearing my 1s I adjust my tongue and pull it up a few times throughout the day.

Probably a factory variation, do they have that hourglass shape from behind? No peaks?

It's quite common on 1s, my SBBs and 2016 Breds have sloppy painting.
