If they release 3 colorways or 30 of one model or 3 versions of one line... we are only compelled to buy what we want... not forced.
Nike doesn't lose because retailers pay full cost. We don't lose because we dont have to purchase everything and we can purchase some stuff on discount.
The Retailer loses every time too many units are ordered and not sold.
I will readily admit I think we as Sneaker Consumers lose when they don't release something we KNOW would sell out even if in limited numbers.

At one time, people only wanted one or two colors, but times have changed.
For the lebrons, you are actually getting 3 different setups and models. So Lebron fans are actually getting the better deal in theory. That is unless you hate one of the three versions and/or feel slighted knowing your favorite version doesnt really have great colorway choices.
Kobe may have 10 great colorways to choose from on one model. Lebron may have just 2 or 3 for each version. So I guess they had to pick their poison. Three models and less colorways? Or one model and pimp the hell out of it? It's definitely experimental. You may love a colorway on the lebron V1s but hate the model and wish it was on the V2s. In years past, everything was on an acceptable model. Now we get the illusion of having a choice, but is it really?
