saw this when it dropped a few months back. it was OKAY.
not that its fair to compare the 2, but kickassss was far superior.
ellen page was great in it. although... it seemed like she was in a different movie than everyone else. her performance/energy/swag were on a different level than the rest of the cast.
rainn wilson was pretty good, but his character was pretty much a simp epitomized. the whole point/purpose of the movie was to get back the wife that never really loved him in the first place. what part of the game is that? moreso, dude was in a haze the whole movie. him and page were just on different wavelengths.
its also not as "dark" as they (james gunn) hyped it up to be. to me, "dark" implies there are some points that make you question your own morality or logic. some psychological thriller type shlt. this film is not that. to me, a lot of what could be described as "dark" is really just violence/sex for the sake of having violence/sex.
which is cool, i guess. but...
its not an action movie... because there isnt enough action.
its not a comedy... because there arent that many lulz.
its not a psychological thriller... because theres nothing psychological or thrilling about it.
its a good movie, i recommend seeing it. but KickAsssss did everything Super does... just a lil better.

this whole part seemed completely out of place... and it kind of still bothers me.
just seemed stupid and unnecessary. might have been a call back to the hentai porn Rainn was watching earlier in the movie. but whatever... they shouldve cut this scene off when Jesus was chilling on the wall... THAT was actually funny.

this scene made no sense in the grand scheme of the movie... but it was easily the best part.
