Brown Sugar by The Rolling Stones
Gold coast slave ship bound for cotton fields,
Sold in a market down in new orleans.
Scarred old slaver know hes doin alright.
Hear him whip the women just around midnight.
Ah brown sugar how come you taste so good
(a-ha) brown sugar, just like a young girl should
A-huh.

Drums beating, cold english blood runs hot,
Lady of the house wondrin where its gonna stop.
House boy knows that hes doin alright.
You should a heard him just around midnight.
Ah brown sugar how come you taste so good
(a-ha) brown sugar, just like a black girl should
A-huh.

I bet your mama was a tent show queen, and all her boy
Friends were sweet sixteen.
Im no schoolboy but I know what I like,
You should have heard me just around midnight.

Ah brown sugar how come you taste so good
(a-ha) brown sugar, just like a young girl should.

I said yeah, I said yeah, I said yeah, I said
Oh just like a, just like a black girl should.

I said yeah, I said yeah, I said yeah, I said
Oh just like, just like a black girl should.

Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd

Big wheels keep on turning
Carry me home to see my kin
Singing songs about the Southland
I miss Alabamy once again
And I think its a sin, yes

Well I heard mister Young sing about her
Well, I heard ole Neil put her down
Well, I hope Neil Young will remember
A Southern man don't need him around anyhow

Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you

In Birmingham they love the governor
Now we all did what we could do
Now Watergate does not bother me
Does your conscience bother you?
Tell the truth

Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you
Here I come Alabama

Now Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers
And they've been known to pick a song or two
Lord they get me off so much
They pick me up when I'm feeling blue
Now how about you?

Sweet home Alabama
Where the skies are so blue
Sweet Home Alabama
Lord, I'm coming home to you

Sweet home Alabama
Oh sweet home baby
Where the skies are so blue
And the governor's true
Sweet Home Alabama
Lordy
Lord, I'm coming home to you
Yea, yea Montgomery's got the answer
bolded parts are may or may not be racist. IDK Im not black BTW, I just wanted to see what you guys think of it

I don't think either songs are racist, and The Rolling Stones were influenced by black blues and rnb musicians. They also have a black bassist.

Lynyrd Sknyrd has the confederate flag flying sometimes in shows, but I'm not if they're racist or just rednecks.

you're a F_ moron.

read the lyrics again. Just because its white dudes talking about slavery (or alabama) doesnt make it racist. How old are you man?

you that touchy?

the rolling stones song sounds like it is about a slaveowner taking advantage of his black slaves (which, for those ignorant folks, happened a lot during thetime period).

Sweet home alabama is like an ode to the "good ole boys". Its an ode to ALabama folk.

Not on Mick Jaggers watch. I really doubt the Rolling Stones meant it literally.
Just listen to their other songs

Thought this thread would have SKREWDRIVER lyrics, or maybe even some NO REMORSE... but instead we get classic bands?

whack.
